Hi there,
after having read "Secret History of the World" Pt. 1 and 3 already and being in the midst of Pt. 2 now I came across this article here. In the article they claim, that it was a close encounter of Sun and Sirius that caused this cataclysm about 13,000 years ago.
This would suggest the possibility that Sirius and not Nemesis might be the long awaited "Death Star".
As I didn't find anything about it while searching this forum, I registered to be able to ask this question:
Is there any possibility, that the described Sirius-Sun interaction could indeed be taking place? Are there any exactly known orbits of Sun & Sirius that would make this theory possible? I couldn't find any search results from astronomical websites on this thing. So I wonder, if it just might be a myth or if there's something to it that might be based on fact.
