I made this box as a wedding present for my eldest son.

Lovely! Is it a humidor or a keepsake box? Hubby and I are wood geeks. I have a lathe that runs in autumn, and he is making shelves and does other woodworking. (I have yet to do more than turn a square into a column, but its fun.) :D

Thanks thevenusian. :)

about 4 types of Australian wood Balberon. Mostly New Guinea Rosewood.
All sides have as much work as the front panel.

That is beautiful, Wanderer33! The front paneling work is stunning. Nicely done :wow:

It was inspirational and made with love.
I feel that it is connected to my awakening if you like.
While I was making this, I had thoughts of imbuing it with my soul and life
energy. I am humbled by it. It has meaning. It feels alive.
Each part of the process was not in itself complex, though when I assembled it,
this was the result. No detailed carving or special tools were involved.
I used a band saw, paring chisel, belt-sander, glue, cramps, steel wool and lacquer. :)

Love can create beauty.

Looks like a family heirloom to me. I think it's cool when people have special talents and the desire to share them with others. I think you're right, love does create beauty.
