This is the latest release of the last three Crystal Conscripts books, yes one of them is based on a bug species, a preying mantis. And yes, I do know that it’s well known of what they do here in this reality by commendable sources here on the site, but I like to think that there’s a balance out there, even in this. What’s been discovered about a praying mantis species in this reality would of course be associated with a negative self-serving society … hey, that’s where we are. And I actually used that in my story of a society built on that. But this is not their story but those that oppose them, the other-serving side. And I would like to believe that they are in the same situation that we’re in, screwed by the same kind of governing factor and common souls that are living just enough to keep these lesser folk from complaining … I hope I’m not being too blunt with that am I.
Now I did have some fun with it, I have the Tax Manti (Tis the season), the Manti Hole cover or the Tarsi Operated Version.
I seem to be stuck on two characters, one a crystal of all means, and the other is an American Indian. Where the crystal is timeless, the man is still working his way there. His story starts in my book ‘The Alchemist’, beware it’s a solid ’R’ rating and was probably the hardest writing project I ever did, it wasn’t easy just to shift the mindset like that. I had to read my wife’s love stories to write this way, she likes a good swashbuckler, makes what I wrote ‘Yawn’ material. He has another visit at the end of the ‘Changelings’ to end up in this set way out in space where he comes face to face with a crystalline entity, the source he was looking for … that’s where these three books are. The first two, ‘Crystal Conscripts’ and ‘Mantodeans’, which have been cleaned up and enhanced, ‘Macrocosm’ is a proper release. But if you’re a writer you know, it’s not done until the publisher rips it from you’re crooked nimble fingers because you’ve been typing too much, so until then you get the updates.
I do have to admit, all this that’s going on now, it’s frightful to know and understand what’s happening right now in several worldly places … and it’s just one issue that we’ve come to realize. Somehow the Titanic movie with the musicians playing while sinking … yea that comes to mind. But to the other side of this, it has been affecting my writing topics, it has turned to a darker world. So to show this I have a preview of one I’m still working on called the ‘Hook in the Otherworld’. It’s the next book in my ‘Swashbuckler’ book set. I brought Captain Hook back to life with a 90% bad soul and Bob Hoskins’ character as Smee, he was the cook.
This suspense is disturbing to me, it’s really ruining my creativity and making me watch way too much news for my liking. Haiku …
