...71% of Americans believe the government is concealing the truth about UFOs... Dan Aykroyd is one of them.

Investigate the mysterious world of UFO's with legendary actor/ writer/ producer Dan Aykroyd, whose riveting personal experiences led him to a deeper study of this controversial phenomenon. Presented by renowned author/UFOlogist David Sereda, this astounding film reveals extensive research of conspiracy theories and startling new evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms. Compelling UFO footage along with rare testimonials by Astronaut Gordon Cooper, NASA engineer John F. Schuessler, and former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer. The late President Ronald Reagan, among others, also gives further credence to one of the greatest mysteries of our time. Aykroyd and Sereda discuss recent findings, international UFO technology, government cover-ups and potential military intervention in a possible attack. Witness shocking, never-before- seen footage of UFOs in classified military and NASA Space Shuttle videotapes. View video clips of the latest unexplained flying objects recorded by witnesses throughout the world. And finally, explore Aykroyd's personal views on UFOs, extraterrestrials, quantum physics and the age old question... ARE WE ALONE?

By arguing a subject you admit there is something to argue.

I watched this movie on DVD this week. It's really Serada's film, and he builds up Aykroyd needlessly, saying that he talks like "a full professor on the subject" of UFOs, and ending by calling him one of the greatest minds on Earth. Regardless, Aykroyd comes off as pretty well versed on the subject -- he's clearly read a lot -- and as a fairly sharp guy despite some of Serada's pointless questions like, "if you had a time machine, what would go back and change." It mainly shows tons of UFO films and photos over Aykroyd discussing the subject broadly, plus clips of various UFO conference speakers, eyewitnesses, and a few commentators. There really wasn't any exploration of Aykroyd's personal experiences (particularly the UFO encounter he said he had), but there was a fascinating recounting of a possible MIB experience (while on the phone with Britney Spears, of all people).

Most interesting among the film clips of speakers was former Canadian Minister of National Defence, Paul Hellyer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Hellyer), who is strongly opposed to the weaponization of space, and whose conclusion is that UFOs are real, and the US government knows the most about them. A brief clip of Richard Dolan speaking was also featured.

Multidimensionality was indeed covered, and to his credit, Aykroyd seems not to be a "nuts and bolts" guy so much, and accepts and believes in the possibility of an extra-dimensional aspect to the UFO phenomenon. He's clearly investigated this and was not thrown by any other topic either. He's not swayed by the "space brothers are here to save us" crowd any more than he is by the clear indication that abductions are "not good," and seems to lean toward the idea of beings of mixed intent or perhaps multiple groups of visitors.

It was clear, though, that Aykroyd has not internalized or accepted the probability of conspiracies beyond the scope of the obvious government/military coverup of UFOs. Although he thinks that alien technology may have been back-engineered for military purposes, his answer to why that technology is not publicly evident didn't reveal much depth of possibility beyond "perhaps the military doesn't want to play that card yet." Terrorists were mentioned as if they were a real, independent threat, etc.

It was interesting to learn that he had a deal (with the Sci-Fi channel, I think it was) to do a documentary series in which he sought out and interviewed various personalities in the field of UFO research. I think it was called "Out There" or something. If I recall correctly, he completed less than ten shows when, he thinks, he started getting close to something or someone that the PTB didn't want revealed. Then the MIB incident occurred, and literally minutes later he was told to stop taping and that his show had been cancelled and none of the episodes were to be aired. Hmmmm. He says he still has the tapes and is looking to repackage them, perhaps for release on DVD.
