"Days of Desctruction, Days of Revolt" Talk by Chris Hedges

The Force is Strong With This One
Hi Everyone,

I am still quite a newbie here so I am not sure I am posting this in the right category (perhaps the administrators can help out with that), however I thought this would be the best category given the subject matter.

This is a video of the talk that I attended here in Edmonton Canada given by Chris Hedges last weekend at the University of Alberta sponsored by our library.

In the video, Hedges does make mention of the two worlds described by Huxley (Brave New World) and Orwell (1984) and suggests that both have come true ... hence my posting this to 'Our Orwellian World'.

P.S. - Also, I am not sure whether I need to deactivate links when including them in posts. I noticed that sometimes people do that and other times not. Can anyone comment on the reason for this? Does it have to do with the quality of the link?

We deactivate links that we don't want to give google support to but still want to make them available to our members. In the above case, an active link is fine.

Thank you, Laura.

The way to deactivate links is to put // in front of them, right?

Also, I changed my user name (to something I more often use that is a play on the Van Morrision song 'Into the Mystic') because I did not like my original user name and since I cannot edit the post above (yet), I thought it was worth mentioning as it may cause some confusion with my previous posts.

Best way is to just put a line space thingy like this: line_space_thingy. As in _httpblah blah. It's the shortest and simplest method.
