Deltron 3030

I am not sure if any of you are into Hip-Hop, and even if you are you might not have heard of this brilliant artist, but I thought that I'd share him with you guys.
Deltron 3030 is a hip-hop collaboration of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Kid Cola and Dan the Automator. It is true Hip-Hop, about life, politics and even a hint of spirituality; it is not about "hoes" or "popping caps".
Del seems to go quite deep, the whole album is about Del in the year 3030 fighting the mega-corporations that rule Earth and there is some stuff in there that might even border on the esoteric. But it is also funny and does not take itself too seriously.
If you are a Hip-Hop lover you will adore this stuff. And if not, this might just convert you :P

Yeah, Deltron 3030 is at the top of the list for a certain style of rap/hip hop IMO. I loved it a ton when it first came out 11 years ago, don't really listen to it so much anymore. It's a neat futuristic concept storyline album, pretty original in many ways, and intellectual at times. Lots of guest artists as well (including Sean Lennon if I remember correctly).

Unfortunately there is still that huge ego theme going on throughout the whole thing, about how Del is going to save the world, and it's him vs. everyone, and he's the best, your crew's no good, etc. Which these days I find to be somewhat tiresome. But I did get a lot of replay value out of it for many years, and some of the raps are just unbelievable, especially for that particular year.
