Deported over children's behavior?

The Majority party in Switzerland is proposing an outrageous deportation policy for its citizens. If your children are convicted of violent or drug offenses then the entire family will be deported from the country. The implications of this prospect are really very frightening.

Okay, I agree that is spooky beyond belief, but where do they get deported to?
And is it just me or wasn't the "black sheep" considered lucky originally?

That would just be Swiss conservatives being themselves, business as usual so to say. The Swiss were 'pioneers' in the business of getting rid of unwanted foreigners: in a time when in other parts of Europe foreigners were not an issue in politics, the Swiss were already offering foreigners (Yugoslavians and Turks) cash to go back whence they had come from in the early 1980s. That is what one of my (naturalized Swiss) uncles boasted with back then.

Unlike most other countries, in Switzerland the words 'national' and 'foreigner' have very definite meanings, and they entail perceivable and material consequences for those on both sides of that dichotomy.
