Andi, might this be the reason You don't like him?

Indeed, that is one of them. But mostly his close affiliation with Alex Jones and his magical trips on DMT (a very powerful hallucinogen).
He doesn't do it for me through I do like some of his themes. I find there is a big contrast -he jumps form funny to disgusting easily and switches it back and forth.

I find Rogan to be an entertaining, and insightful figure who is quite honest about his shortcomings, and is always on a search for truth and knowledge. He appears to live a life modelled on improving and seeking truth.
What do you folks think of him now? Have you followed his career at all?
The first I heard of Joe Rogan was when I was researching bulletproof coffee, and he debunked Dave Asprey's 'Upgraded Coffee' product, which turned out to be not what it was advertised to be. So I liked him for the fact that he was a guy who was prepared to do his research.
Since then, I've gotten into a few conversations with a work colleague of mine about things such as the ketogenic diet and cold therapy, and my colleague has gotten all his info on such things from Rogan's podcasts.
Then, Rogan had Jordan Peterson on his show, and I was very impressed with his interviewing style and technique.
So I've done more looking into him, including watching his stand-up comedy. I'm a big fan of stand-up and I enjoyed his two most recent specials.
On the hallucinogenic side of things...
Just before I got interested in Rogan, I watched a very recent interview with Gabor Mate. I was horrified to learn that he has now taken the path of using hallucinogens for therapeutic purposes, as I have a very strong aversion and bias against such things. Basically, I felt strongly that Mate has been vectored by unseen forces to tarnish and degrade his work.
When I became aware of Joe Rogan's positive stance towards such practices, it put me in a defensive and wary attitude towards him. The thing is, I've seen video of him before his 'trippy transformation', and I've seen video of him afterwards, and I have to say, I believe he really benefited from taking hallucinogens, since IMO he seems to be a much more grounded person with a stronger character and displays a good deal of self-actualisation.
I do enjoy his show and his discussions. He is very skeptical to anything non-material, though, and dismisses pretty much any conspiracy theory he hears - for example, ridiculing one of his friends/cohosts for their talking about building 7 on 9/11.
He is remarkably influential, fwiw, and I think in a good way.
Overall, I'd lean towards agreement with you. However, the fact that his show can get up to 60 million downloads in a month suggests to me that he may, in some way, be an unconscious agent being 'helped'; he's such a massive influence in modern popular culture, and usually, such people are unwittingly used for disinfo and consciousness vectoring of the masses.
