Digestive problem

As I explained in this thread 2 weeks before, the day before traveling I got what I wouldn't define as a diarrhea but almost diarrhea. Then the travel, when I was there that weekend, the defecation was normal. Then the following day after being back home, I had the problem again. I think it was not a total diarrhea but a flabby thick defecation (I'm not sure if that is the best term in english, I mean not solid, neither liquid, something in the middle). The person with whom I went to the travel got an intoxication from some food ingested there, and had vomits, diarrhea, and the doctor told her that it was an intoxication worsened by the fact that she hadn't been eating enough meat so that her iron levels were low, as her inmune system. She was given medicines and a diet to follow (mainstream doctor)

Now, I continued to have such defacations for a few more days. I stop eating most of vegetables except pumpkins, sweet potatoe, and a few fruits (pears for instance), eating mostly chicken, and meat. I took charcoal a couple of times. I felt inflamation of bowel was reduced and it seeemed I was doing pretty well. Defacation turned normal, although of a clearer colour. Sunday got back a few veggies and potatoes, the following day I had the flabby defecation back again, and took again the charcoal. But there is another problem that I have been noticing just the last 2 or 3 days. I am feeling a kind of muscle fatigue, that is not normal in me, I don't usually have that. I fear that maybe my small intestine is not absorbing properly nutrients, maybe I am lacking minerals and vitamines? I don't know what to thinbk about it, I hope I was clear with the description. I feel easily tired and that is not normal. Something is wrong with my digestion, I feel hungry rapidly after I ate, and it seems the digestion goes to fast

To be hungry is a positive sign.

Perhaps you can have a diagnosis from this: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptomcenter.htm

Hi Graalsword
Have you been following the ultra simple diet? I had a quick look at you're posts, and you mention it but I didn't know if you where following it, or for how long you've been following it?

What did you eat whilst travelling?? Was it different to what you eat at home? How was you're diet different between travel and home??

I'm thinking that perhaps you are eating something you are allergic too, which is why I suggest the ultra simple diet (remove foods from you're diet, then introduce one at a time to see which one causes digestive problems).

Digestive problems (including seemingly not absorbing vitamins) and muscle fatigue are the symptoms I get when I eat something I shouldn't have.

Thanks for the link. I will try it.

Hi Thank you for the reply. I couldn't follow the USD yet, but I mostly got rid of dairy and gluten (except a few occations where I was at work and I was hungry and there was only some cookies (made of standard flour) available). But I began that change only the last week and a half, taking advantage of this problem to justify the change at home. In fact I am trying to use this issue to justify dietary changes at home and avoid arguments about food, putting as an excuse this digestive problem. ( Here I explain the problem at home regarding that.

Actually it was not too different, only that I had food in hotel and restaurants, I couldn't buy and cook it 'cause I was in a typical hotel room without kitchen. Plus it was a little town. The foods I ate had: Meat, chicken, Jam, potatoes, bacon, onion, orange. The only suspition I have is that the second and last day at night we ate a little meal that had olives, bacon, jam, and pickles. I dislike pickles at all so I don't eat them, but besides it, I guess something was wrong with that food, maybe it was in a bad state from the beginning.

Today I am feeling better again, no muscle fatigue, I am not sure which one was the wrong food. The problem was back when I ate potatoes again, and some lettuce. (after more than one week of not having them at all).

I will see how to begin the USD without getting arguments at home over food.

The way I got round this problem (and I did have arguments) was to buy, cook and prepare all my own food. Do not expect to rely on others (this is selfish - and causes arguments), do it all yourself. It is also a useful exercise in taking responsibility for your own BEing.
Since doing this for some time, those around me have changed their diets a little and even prepare meals we can all eat now sometimes :)
Once I was confident in cooking my own food, I occasionally cooked for my family/friends. And they have commented how good it is that I'm cooking all this food for myself, and how impressed they are with my cooking so much.

Thanks for the advice RedFox. Maybe I should just stand for myself, and just do it and go through the storm until the "waters" are quiet, trying to avoid as much as possible hurting others. I just need to think of an strategy to do it in a way that provokes the least possible resistance from my mother, as she believes she owns the kitchen and doesn't let anyone to use it.

I am feeling a bit better today, something that I've noticed these days is that if I drink much water my guts bother me. When I drink slowly (and most especially if my stomach is not empty) it feels ok. Also, either because of having eliminated some foods, or due to EE, I increasily feel rejection towards evil foods. For instance, I used to love pastas, but I currently can't stand them (i mean standard pastas made of wheat flour, with gluten).

Perhaps state you're intent to use it, but that you'd like help cooking food? Set the recipe/guidelines (so she doesn't add any gluten/dairy), but let her help cook it?
If that doesn't work then perhaps just stand your ground as politely as you can, and use it after she's finished.

The water drinking is interesting. It could be that the water has toxins in that your body is rejecting, or it could be the chlorine killing your intestinal bacteria (which is a bad thing)....or a combination of the two.
Are you able to get your self a small counter top/fridge jug with a water filter in? They are not the best (compared to reverse osmosis or distilled water), but getting rid of chlorine and a few heavy metals is a good step. We have a Britta water filter at home.

Sounds like your body is starting to regain its proper state if it is rejecting the evil foods, so best to avoid them and not harm your body. Keep it up! :)

I don't have, but I am planing to buy one. I am searching for a filter where water has no contact with plastic.
Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the link.

The only thing you could get like that would be a water distiller.
My understanding is that contact with plastic is ok, as long as the water (or food) is not heated. Its heat that causes the plastic to leak chemicals. fwiw

Yes, that makes sense, thanks.
