Disturbing

I saw discussion of this on another board and while it's not my kind of music, it's more disturbing to me than usual. The name of the song is "ET" and it's sung by Katy Perry. Lyrics and song at this link. http://youtu.be/bh63nfmb3p0

I listened to it once and found it really disturbing. The younger generation isn't only being blantantly dumbed down, their being assimilated right in front of our eyes and under our noses.

"E.T."

You're so hypnotizing
Could you be the devil?
Could you be an angel?

Your touch magnetizing
Feels like I am floating
Leaves my body glowing

They say, be afraid
You're not like the others
Futuristic lover
Different DNA
They don't understand you

[Pre-Chorus]
You're from a whole 'nother world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go
Lead me into the light

Kiss me, kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

[Verse 2]
You're so supersonic
Wanna feel your powers
Stun me with your lasers
Your kiss is cosmic
Every move is magic

[Pre-Chorus]
You're from a whole 'nother world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go
Lead me into the light

[Chorus]
Kiss me, kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

[Bridge]
This is transcendental
On another level
Boy, you're my lucky star

I wanna walk on your wave length
And be there when you vibrate
For you I'll risk it all
All

[Chorus]
Kiss me, kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

Extraterrestrial
Extraterrestrial

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

:scared:

Yep, I was pretty shocked when I first heard this. It goes to show how UFO's and especially abductions are treated as a joke in mainstream media. They take this 'joke' and romanticize it, twisting it around into a lovestruck metaphor.

The parts that I found most disconcerting were the bits about wanting to be a victim. Talk about sending out a message for those susceptible.

I followed that link and could not finish the song. Very upsetting. 'Tis an uphill battle to offer truth.

What is even more disturbing is Hollywood and the music industry promoting this rot.

Sort of like taking our young and warping their brains, brainwashing them into romatizing it.

There is more than one way to conquer - a smart civilization will not use overt warfare, they possibly will use covert.

This one was so obvious, their not even hiding anymore.

Yep, also floored when I first heard this song. Is this message not loud and clear: accept a psychopathic worldview, it's sexxxxy! Who wrote these words? Why do I feel next to certain it wasn't Katy Perry?

Reminds me very much of some of the songs Phil Spector put out with the Crystals. The song 'He Hit Me?' This is Mr. Spector seemingly gleefully highlighting (no irony, no empathy) the spousal abuse the singer Little Eva was experiencing. Sincerely she claimed the punches were pulled out of love. :scared:

'He Hit Me' on Youtube: http://youtu.be/f20Oz9Yr_So

From wikipedia:

"It was a brutal song, as any attempt to justify such violence must be, and Spector’s arrangement only amplified its savagery, framing Barbara Alston’s lone vocal amid a sea of caustic strings and funereal drums, while the backing vocals almost trilled their own belief that the boy had done nothing wrong. In more ironic hands (and a more understanding age), 'He Hit Me' might have passed at least as satire. But Spector showed no sign of appreciating that, nor did he feel any need to. No less than the song’s writers, he was not preaching, he was merely documenting."

— Dave Thompson

Or how bout "if you've gotta hurt somebody, please hurt me!" Listen, ladies: he loves you because he says so. It is in his nature to be violent and full of deceit, but he keeps coming back to you, right? Lets be thankful for what we do have. Or how about, the aliens only paralyze you before experimenting on you because they want to make sure they don't hurt you or make mistakes. Remember, you asked for their help...

These songs are absolutely useful: examples of the mask wearing thin. Kanye West is an incredibly informative listen for the same reason.
