do you hear sounds in the air ?

I noticed for a while now sounds in the air that sound like airplanes, several times a day .
the odd thing is, that it seems that those sounds not always come from airplanes and sometimes they can be heared for a long time.
is it just my subjectiv feeling that something has changed in the atmosphere and/or consciousness that those sounds have changed ?
sometimes I see airplanes flying over and it seems to me that those sounds I can hear now have changed.
it is difficult to discripe this but it sounds different then years before.

I read some SOTT articles that similar things could be going on in other parts of the world.
is the cause of this the "changing atmosphere" or the "thinning of the veil" or am I just imagine this ?
did you noticed similar things ?

Edit: spelling

Hi Pashalis,

I'm pretty sure you are not imagining things on this occasion. I have had similar experiences past and present. I delved a bit into it and came up with the following.

First I have to mention I live in a neighborhood with an airport farther away and a couple of railway lines in rather direct vicinity.

Over the years I noticed several periods each year when climate conditions blur the distinctions between the sounds of airplanes and trains (especially very long ones), notably into late evening and at night. After longer considerations it turned out to be twice a year due to specific combinations of humidity, air pression and cloud formations - which are present in late spring early summer (i.e. just about now) and then again in late autumn early winter (end November start December). Not only the weather conditions play their part, it also turned out to be the more busy periods on both forms of traffic which means more variety of carriers of all sorts and thus more variety of sounds all together.

Apart from this there also is an influence via regulations of allowed noise levels on airplanes and levies and rates imposed accordingly (the louder and noisier the planes, the higher the airport tarifs and landing fees - at least where I live). This has resulted over the years into the design and construction of less noisier plane engines and the fazing out of the notorious troublemakers. So that would be an independent development to explain your observations.

Then again, air pollutions of any kind can reinforce or just scatter some airplane sounds as well according to circumstance.

So, all in all plenty to chose from to get to the bottom of this phenomenon.

To round up, a few days back I saw around nine in the evening a rather low flying very bright light (which could have been an airplane) moving rather quickly on a uncommon trajectory without any sound whatsoever. It puzzled me, but I didn't come to any conclusion about it as of yet.

thanks that are some possible explanations even do I think it is still a possibility that something has changed in the air the last years.

some weeks back I saw a round silver looking object over the city I travel through when I go to work. after few seconds it seemed to have
vanished. I'm pretty sure that it was not a plane or something like this. I also saw a light over the same city months ago (pretty low over
the city). and on another occasion I saw a very bright orange light (in the hight of trees) right before I reached this city. It was in the woods
on the right while I was driving to work.

I hear all sorts of sounds in the air alotl of the time. I live in an 'army base' town which means that the airport is open 24 hours a day. But, in the last 6 months I am so much more aware of the constant sounds of aircraft taking off and going over head. Its so hard to distinguish whether my awareness is different or whether there is much more activity?? The thing is that no one seems to question it anyways because we 'accept' the 'fact' that the airport 'needs' to be open for 'military exercises' 24 hours a day.
And we have all sorts of aircraft flying around us much of the time. Geez I bet if a huge UFO hovered right above the Sunday markets no one would even question it.   What's normal when its not normal anyways??

i have noticed this sound, like a plane flying low, but sometimes i don't see any plane, nothing in the sky.
There are no trains by here.

One, two or three months ago, i saw a plane, with bright lights, flying low, and in a minute... i saw nothing... it was gradual, and after this i thought i must be wrong, because this things doesn't happen

right now there is a thunderstorm around my house.
the strange thing is that the booms go on for minutes and don't stop.
I've noticed this a few days back also, when my grandma told me that she heard those too and thought there must be a big truck oudside that drives arround the house, when she got out she realized that it was the ongoing boom from the thunderstorm.

in the past a boom was relativly short I think (a few seconds).

There's been helicopters every day at my location for the last 3 weeks or so, usually 1 or 2 a day, ordinary looking. We used to have the occasional ambulance helicopter earlier here, but never on a daily basis like now.

Hi Pashalis,

I agree with Palinurus, newer development in commercial jet planes seems reasonable but it may require further investigation if you think there is more to it. Start with how a jet engine works then look at any changes made over the last few year such as emission controls or fuel additives etc.

Hope this helps.

I dare say that it is a 'yes' to both of the above and more ;)
