does anyone recognise this?

I wasn't sure where to post this. Perhaps it belongs in baked noodles, but i found this document titled "strange" in my documents, and have no idea where it came from. Does anyone recognize this?

I can't open it, so I have no clue what it is. But I don't understand why you are asking here about something you found in your documents.

Thank you Muxel. Now i know where it came from. I just saved it to read later, but i just found it, and had no idea where it was from. Good word for it, as it was very bizarre. I was really hoping the attachment worked,as it is quite long, and i wasn't sure i even wanted to waste my time reading it, let alone posting it in full.

davey, this entire thread is noise. Please refrain from posting this way in the future.

A title like "strange.txt" spikes uninformed curiosity... What I usually do is give my files long, descriptive (and sometimes inappropriate) names so when I look through them later, I generally know what each one is.

Well I think it had some relevance to the forum since it was an attachment davey downloaded from the forum. But yeah, proper file naming could help him avoid situations like this in future.

Muxel, this is a forum with a specific purpose, not a chit-chat forum like others. We ask all the new members to read the forum guidelines as soon as they arrive so that they understand them, and choose whether they want to participate following those guidelines or not. Noise here means that this thread has nothing whatsoever to do with why we are all here.

At the time, Davey was unaware he had downloaded it from here. It was merely a random file that he decided to to upload here and ask if anyone knew what it was. That is exactly the kind of scenario where you could define it as noise. The relevance to the forum was only true after the fact. Big difference.

Okay, I see what you mean Heimdallr. Thanks.
But maybe davey had an inkling that the file was connected somehow to his activities on this forum... which would explain his actions.

Muxel, you are 'filling in the blanks'. No - that doesn't explain his actions because that didn't happen, you're just making it up in your own mind. You are arguing just for the sake of arguing and trying to be correct when you are not correct. Please re-read the forum guidelines so you understand what is being said in this thread.

Actually I am really surprised and also slightly annoyed that someone with 580 posts on this forum would open a thread like this.

Proceeding objectively as per Mouravieff, I see that the thread is "noise" and did not exhibit motives consistent with Fourth Way Work. In "filling in the blanks" I was presumptive and defensive. In that respect, Heimdallr's post applies fully and I stand corrected.

Good grief, calm down everyone.

Muxel replied that he realized he was adding to the noise yesterday afternoon, SilverJeep - not sure why you would suggest 'calming' at this point this morning. What was the motivation behind your post?

Sorry all. I didn't expect this to be such a problem. I am kinda glad i did post it, though, as it shows me that there is something i obviously have to work on. As for 580 posts. that blows me away, as i feel like i am still new here. I hope someone was able to get something out of it, at least.

EDIT: I just wanted to add, although i may be wrong, but i seem to have noticed a recurring theme here on the forum. Why is it that posts that are deemed to be --noise-- seem to have the biggest flurry of posts? one right after another, and almost all of them with seemingly emotional attachment. Short of the administrators in most cases, of course. Am i onto something, or am i just adding more noise?
