Dream in a dream

Hi all!

As the topic says i had a dream that i am dreaming and in that "sub-dream" i became aware beacuse i noticed something was wrong (was not logical). In my "prime-dream" i am lying in my bed and fell asleep. but before that there was a strange creature on four legs fooling around and playing and then it started to make some arches of light in the space which remain. the sub-dream : i became totally aware of everything except that i was actually in the "prime.dream". there i was , standing on a road , the forest is to my right and the sky is dark as the endless horizon is. BANG!!! AWARENESS. i was aware that i am manifesting.i was aware that everything is possible-no restriction. but sadly that scared the heck out of me and i demanded to go back to the "prime-dream". so there i felt an energetic shift (it was really something-felt like smt was moving me to the right out of my body). and i woke up in the prime dream and continued to dream that litle creature.

i was sad that i was not ready for POSSIBILITY. i am not ready yet for that.

but there is more. this is actually the second dream in a dream.

in the first one i was also in my bed and dreamed that i fell asleep. i wake up in the sub dream and there was some major alternation to reality. i look out of the window and see a huge craft hoovering. then i got in a room with people (alien) of which tought they were lizards. so i started to take a leak on them :D .(this is beacuse of the story of credo mutwa - south african shaman when he was adopted by aliens he pissed on one and it fell like it was hit by a train. i used this knowledge-it was funny and they were shocked. altough they could be good guys -who knows) . this dream was a litle exhibition.

the first dream i mentoied was like anything i have expirienced yet. who knows what ive could done if i was not too scared. i was scared to manifest a horrible creature so i quickly "shifted" back to the prime dream

has anyone had dreams like mine? a "sub-dream"? lets share

I had four dreams contained within each other:

08 July 2010
Dream 1244am - Intense dream sequence
First Level dreaml
I am with a group of people in the parkland setting where I stayed in dream 01 May 2010 with the traveling group. Someone is playing with a ball again. We are all playing gleefully. It is dark again, but like then, there is enough ambient light to see very well - It is a black sky. We are shrieking with delight, really like happy care free kids. Next I am standing to a toilet and urinating into a large tin pot next to the white toilet bowl. The door keeps swinging open - it seems right to do this.
Second Level Dream
I wake up in a bed which I seem to share with another person on my left. Suddenly I sit up and put my feet on the floor. There on my right is a bedside table with a cell phone on alarm. There are two wide brimmed hats, both brown, one within the other also on the table edge furthest away. The other "person" stirs with the alarm but I tell him "it’s O.K." The hats are knocked off the table as I reach to turn off the alarm. There is a sense that this is a small room and I remember staying with a brother of mine around 19 or so. I am still dreaming.
Third level Dream
I am lying in bed remembering waking up from a dream in which I am animatedly gesturing in wordy defence of my sister. I decry loudly and strongly any doubt that she has fault in my eyes. I talk enthusiastically of her loving input over the years in absence of my home, especially during my late teens in her defense.
Forth Level Dream
I see an image of a vertical line of Asian script, in a Japanese like calligraphic style.

A dream in a dream is a key concept in Castaneda books. He call this the first gate of dreaming , the second gate of dreaming etc...

Q: (L) Okay, now we've got a few odds and ends questions for various people.... (personal questions and answers deleted.) .... I'd like to know exactly what is lucid dreaming?

A: Partly conscious awareness while other systems are still switched off and subconscious bleeds through. Can be hypnogogic or hypnopompic or "other" states.

Q: (L) Well, is it a useful state for finding out what's going on in your subconscious, or changing your reality or anything like that?

A: It can be useful for entertainment mainly.

Q: (L) So there are no outstanding benefits to be obtained from practicing so-called lucid dreaming?

A: Not really.

Hi everyone,

I have nested dreams myself from time to time. There is as described a subdream within the real dream. And you are able to recognize this subdream admittedly, you think you are awake. In fact, you are not. A pretty analogy for your state as humans on this planet, by the way.

When I have such dreams, I dream that I have first a dream (mostly it is not a lovely one) and then I wake up and it is dark and I see my room and sometimes I look out the window. Further I cannot remember, however. There is just a peculiar feeling and an endeavor not to fall asleep (again).

It has come to my mind that nested dreams may be a reflection of our 'nested' state of consciousness - layers of functioning and programs. Just a thought at this stage and I'm not sure where the line of thought is going.
Dreams are the emotional center at work according to the C's. Dreams are contained in Ibn al-Rabi's imaginal world or barzahk but he puts more value on imaginal world activities than mere processing, and we know that the C's have told us we will receive messages in our dreams at some stage (I am sorry, I searched for that source but I haven't found it).

I remember once, having a dream where I was on a ship that was sinking, alarms started to go off to abandon ship...... meanwhile in reality..... my sister was outside my room, sleep walking, my dad had gotten out of bed to put her back to sleep, as she would do dangerous things while sleep walking, like try to use the bathroom at the top of the stairs and so fourth.

My dad touched my sister, and she started to scream and struggle with dad, she hit the wall, adjacent to my room, which knocked a shelf off of my wall in my room.
This dislodged a book beween my desk and my bedroom door.

All the commotion woke me out of my dream, but I did not realize it, as my cabin in the dream was my bedroom. I tried to abandon ship, but my door would not open and I really freaked out. I finally came too and the door got opened. :rotfl: :lol2: We all had a good laugh about it later.

Its sort of a dream nested in waking... very surreal.
