Dream with spiders

After meditating I dreamt with four spiders tarantula-like in appearance covered in dust and typical house dirt. I found them in different places in my house, two in my room, others in other places.
One of them bite me, although I did not want to be bitte, the bite was not poisonus, it just gave a sting. Overall my feeling was more to avoid the spiders, I was not really afraid of them.
Any ideas as to what this may mean?

Here's my thoughts on your dream here, but remember the dreams have true meanings only to the dreamer. It is useful to know that most of our dreams are usually dynamics of our own lives. Exaggerated activities and shocking imagery in dreams will do a great deal to get our attention by our subconscious mind.

Having a dream with spiders is interesting, in terms of symbolism.

From dream moods website on spiders in general (_http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/dreamdictionarysearch.pl?method=exact&header=dreamsymbol&search=spiders)

To see a spider in your dream indicates that you are feeling like an outsider in some situation. Or perhaps you want to keep your distance and stay away from an alluring and tempting situation. The spider is also symbolic of feminine power or an overbearing mother figure in your life. Alternatively, a spider refers to a powerful force protecting you against your self-destructive behavior. If you kill a spider in your dream, then it symbolizes misfortune and bad luck.

To see a spider spinning a web in your dream signifies that you will be rewarded for your hard work. You will be promoted in your job or recognized for your achievement in a difficult task. Spiders are also a symbol of creativity due to the intricate webs they spin. On a negative note, spiders may indicate a feeling of being entangled or trapped in a sticky or clingy relationship. It represents some ensnaring and controlling force. You feel that someone or some situation is sucking the life right out of you. Alternatively, if a spider is spinning a web in your dream, then it could be a metaphor for the world wide web and global communication. To see spider eggs in a web suggest that you are not able to fully acknowledge your potential. You are being held back from expressing yourself.

To see a spider climbing up a wall in your dream denotes that your desires will be soon be realized.

To dream that you are bitten by a spider represents a conflict with your mother or some dominant female figure in your life. The dream may be a metaphor for a devouring mother or the feminine power to possess and entrap. Perhaps you are feeling trapped by some relationship. If you eat a spider or dream that a spider is in your mouth symbolizes your control over a situation. You are not afraid to exert your dominance in a relationship.

And, on Tarantula: (_http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/dreamdictionarysearch.pl?method=exact&header=dreamsymbol&search=tarantula)

To see a tarantula in your dream represents your dark and sinister side. A tarantula is also symbolic of a woman figure in your life.

Of course, the "house" represented your Self. And, on "dust," I've had a dream once where there was a "dust" in my "house" - I've found this to mean a certain aspect of myself was being ignored - my looking at it was telling me that I should pay attention to this certain aspect. So, the spider being covered with "dust" in your dream could mean that they are being ignored and this is also evident when you are trying to "avoid it."

Like I said, your dream can have true meaning only to you, based on what's happening around you and within you. You've mentioned that this dream having to occurred after you meditated, so it definitely has to do with hidden emotions trying to come out.

fwiw.

For what it's worth, the possible issue of avoidance also came to mind for me. Can you think of anything in your life (others or yourself - feelings, etc) that you may be running from?

Spiders are also symbols of illusion, of fragility. But also of the cosmic creation. Spiders are also perceived, symbolically, as a divinity. For some African cultures the Spider is the creator of the sun, the moon, the stars. Spider is perceive as an interceptor between the divine and man.

For some cultures, the Mayas also, Spider is capable of seeing the future.

Other cultures consider Spider as the soul of a human being. The soul that is free. For the Aztecan civilization Spider is the guardian of the doors of hell.

Spider is symbol also of intuition and meditation...

Spider can also be introspection and narcissism!

The symbolism of Spider is huge, huge! You can look in a good dictionary of symbols.

That's why... when I see a spider I never, ever kill her. ;)

But what Spider was telling you in your dream? That's the important question you have to ask her...
