I am finding it really hard to stay away :(

excellent example of good advertising, it certainly stays with you :)

some bread, some wine, some bou**** cheese... and some tractor hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Everytime I have had the infinite happiness to be in the french countryside with a beautiful woman during summertime, I really not have missed the boursin... :)

As to the bread, it is important to remind that the bread this commercial propaganda is refering to, was produced, one generation before, with sane wheat which didn't need nanifiers to grow and which had benefit the nutritient of healthy soils.

In many areas of France clean water was not always easy to get, so wine, cider and beers were also ways to have a drink without pathogene bacterias. In the Lot, on the Causse(limestone plateau (in south-central France)), during summer, when water was scarse, men used wine to shave in order to save water...

The vignobles one can see nowadays are far more widespread than in the old time, when vineyards were mainly for self reliance.

The French really became alcoolics on grand scale because of the traumas caused by the wars. During WW1, the army gave 2 liters a day and one pack of cigarettes called "troupe" to the... troops, so you can guess that they wouldn't stop habits acquired in such traumatic conditions that they had on the frontline.

If you can't stop eating cheese - and it IS hard! - read this:

Ha ha... funny. There are so many cheese commercials on French TV that are very similar, it is funny to see one with a twist at the end. Notice that they are also in a field of the evil ripe wheat.

Don't feel bad about cutting cheese loose. It was a shock when I had to do it, but now I am just a few days shy of two months of no dairy, gluten, soy and most of the nightshades (I still occasionally have a baked spud or some frites), and I can see the problems that dairy and gluten caused me. But I sure did miss the cheese in the beginning. I ate a lot of it.

Once all of that stuff is behind you, you will be so busy testing Laura's recipes and learning how to eat all over again that you won't miss any of it. The Cs said that it would take me six months to get the effects of a lifetime of these foods clear of my body... and the healing of my chronic condition. I never want to go back to that again, so it's au revoir, fromage.

Now for a little tractor music, maestro...
