Easter meteor over Kattegat (Denmark)

The night between 24 and 25 th of april many danes were witnesses to a very bright meteor, a socalled fireball. The Tycho Brahe Planetarium informs.

Actually the event happened on easterday. At 23:36 danish summertime, when the phenomena was observed.

Besides visual observations with the naked eye, the fireball was also registred by four automatic cameras which observe the sky.

"Judging by the observation that by now have been reported, it looks like, the meteor burnt out in great heights over Kattegat, near Anholt. Eventual debris will therefore have landed in the sea", Astrophysicist Michael Linden-Vørnle writes on planetariets homepage.
