I agree, but the water is needed. I want to make a remark that ALL I'M DOING is supporting has put so much effort into this. The natural order? What does that mean ? :)

I agree, but the water is needed. I want to make a remark that ALL I'M DOING is supporting my Dad and his work, he has put so much effort into this. The natural order? What does that mean ? :)

That means that human beings are, ultimately, powerless against nature. Instead of assuming that we should interfere to carve nature to our purposes, we should adapt to its changes. Not to mention that, as I said, in a few years they'll likely be wishing for anything but more ice.

What effect will this paint have on the local plants and animals? It's not natural, so it can't be a positive effect - else there would be no need for 'paint'. Human beings need to just stop interfering with nature - then again, that will likely be taken care of with a periodic cleansing soon anyway, since humans seem incapable of figuring that out on their own.

The paint has an alkaline effect on the environment. Also there are no plants or animals where the paint is used.

So, in reality, they have no idea what the effect will be on the environment or the plants and animals. Every surface of this planet is alive - the life may be microscopic or adapted to live in the tundra, but there is life.

I think it's important to learn from experience, maybe this will teach my Dad a lesson. All I can do regarding this matter is to support him.

Of course, it's your choice and I'm not saying that you shouldn't support him. What I'm trying to point out is that the entire idea is simply evidence of man's hubris and the reason why the planet is in such dire straights as it is right now. The planet itself will be fine though - eventually.
