Just watched this episode of Abby Martin's "empire files": Inside Saudi Arabia: Butchery, Slavery & History of Revolt - I think she does a really great job again.

Meet the new head of the United Nations panel on Human Rights: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Abby Martin takes us inside the brutal reality of this police-state monarchy, and tells the untold people's history of resistance to it. With a major, catastrophic war in Yemen and looming high-profile executions of activists, The Empire Files exposes true nature of the U.S.-Saudi love affair.

Just watched this episode of Abby Martin's "empire files": Inside Saudi Arabia: Butchery, Slavery & History of Revolt - I think she does a really great job again.

This thread goes back in time, and yes, Abby generally did a good job back on Telsur and RT.

Abby Martin has not been in the light for a number of years, or i've just have not caught up. Recently, listened to her speaking on Dr Myriam François's show (the show is called The Tea with Myriam François), with Abby unpacking how she sees things. Abby has also just released - from the Empire Files, a documentary called EARTH'S GREATEST ENEMY (this seemed to have premiered in 2023 that also needed funding at the time to finish) - this is just the trailer.

From the limited trailer view, Abby is looking at the environment; pollution, toxins (what traditional environmentalism have drifted away from to settle on C02, osit), to what looks to be fossil fuels and climate change orientated. However, the greater focus seems to be a on the military aspect of this:

A new film by Abby Martin exposing the world's biggest polluter: the US military. Earth's Greatest Enemy is a new documentary film investigating the Pentagon's catastrophic toll on the planet–from carbon emissions, to toxic dumping, to habitat destruction and more, while highlighting the struggles against it. This will be the first ever piece of media that puts every facet of the Pentagon's pollution together into one indictment.

Here is the trailer:

Going back to François's show, there is some good discussion. Abby gets fired up as she used to do while Myriam steers the questions. Abby is also a mum now, and this weighs heavy (as it should) on her fears. There seems to also be a bit of a utopian wanting, although never describing what that looks like.

All in all a good talk:

"The Mask Is Completely Ripped Off"

Corruption. Endless wars. Distruction. Propaganda. Empires don’t fall from external enemies — they rot from within. So, are we witnessing that collapse in real time?

From Iran to Gaza to Venezuela, the mask is slipping. The myth of a benevolent empire, spreading democracy and human rights, has crumbled. What’s left is what’s always been there: domination, extraction, control.
It's not about strategy. It's about profit. Wealth funnelled to a tiny elite, while corporations feed on crisis — turning war, environmental collapse, and even human suffering into business models.

In this eye-opening episode of The Tea, we sit down with legendary American journalist, Empire Files host and Peabody Award nominee, Abby Martin, to unpack what the final stage of the American empire really looks like — and where it’s headed next.

We discuss:
⚡ The war with Iran and the manufacturing of consent
⚡ The US–Israel alliance and shifting power in the region
⚡ Trump’s “cartoon dictatorship”
⚡ De-dollarisation and the limits of US global dominance
⚡ Military: the fourth biggest polluter in the world
⚡ The state of journalism: media control and propaganda
⚡ A multipolar world — shift or illusion?
⚡ AI and the future of warfare
⚡ Peter Thiel, the “Antichrist,” and the Vatican talks
As Abby Martin argues, “We have to confront this military empire at its core — the arteries of capital — because that’s the only language it understands.”
