Examples of the general law and law of exception?

Reading Gnosis I am struggling to understand what general law implies about the universe. Is the universe indifferent, while moving against expectations triggers the general law to keep us in place. Or is the universe inherently more malevolent, because of the fact that the general law is quietly waiting to enforce obstacles? Is the general law any different to programs, buffers they all seem to refer the maintenance of mechanicalness? Also how is this related to law of accident and exception?

Gurdjieff seemed to liken our fate frequently to 'dying like dogs', 'people pray their whole life but dies like dogs'. Do people who are balanced enough to receive higher centres consciously still fall pray to this and why does general law obstruct people from reaching this state?

Thanks

Hi mrelectric91, I'll try to give my thoughts to your questions, someone with more knowledge may correct me please.

indifferent think the word is not correct, I think rather the universe is aware of the general law, and this place a great school, and throughout there are a number of rules to follow and the universe being balanced consientemente everyone decides that face God wants to see.

see above

I think the programs, caps etc, but rather are part of the general law, see you start working on them, you have free albredio you would be sending the signal to the universe, and the change would come

once you start working on the development of self, that is, you are aware of the reality in which they live, makes the necessary changes presisamente to exit accident law (general), then you already would enter into another law which is the law of exceptions, but to enter this law exceptions need a good job.

I think one see that the person has contact with his higher centers, leaving the general law, and enters the law exceptions, on the other hand, the words of Gurdjieff , "die like dogs", just look as is currently the humanity, to understand these words, however, I return to the same, if you are aware of this reality, its destiny, I would not be dying like dogs, there is a series of videos that Laura did, where is the question of how create your reality, explains that the direction taken our lives depend on the decisions we make every day.

If we are all here to learn, just might see the general law as a series of tests that must approve if you already passing these exams you are ready for the next level.

Is it possible that there are different 'General Laws' for different polarizations?

In other words, the General Law you are referring to, is probably the STS polarized General Law (for STS polarized areas) - which will always seek to bring everything back into an STS state.

I'm sure there must also be an STO General Law (for STO polarized areas) - and logic dictates that the STO General Law will always seek to bring everything within it back into an STO state?

And finally, there will be a 'Universal General Law' - or a law which is above both polarizations - and this law will be a law of balance between the forces of STS & STO (think of the fact that 6th D STO has a shadow opposite of 6th D STS to balance it).

How's that sound?

Interesting questions, my thoughts are that in other realms, the general laws are in agreement with the polarization of that reality, and as a "universal general law", as you mention, the universe is balanced, I think the chances that there are very high, but I'm not so sure. :/

Hi mrelectric91,

You didn't specify where exactly you have arrived within the Gnosis trilogy so I have to guess, but Book I, Chapter IX (pg. 75-82) gives a neat overview --from the perspective of the Ray of Creation-- of the different levels of reality and the (number of) laws that apply to them. In shorthand: the lower the level, the more laws apply; and increasingly less freedom is possible, available or attainable.

As was already mentioned by others, the overall state of the Universe (multi-verse) is one of balance, i.e. dynamic equilibrium. This may include local (regional, world) imbalances.

Further explanation can be gained from the CassWiki, preferably in the following order to start with:

Cosmoses (Fourth Way)
General Law
Law of Accident
Law of Three
Law of Seven
Law of Confusion
A, B, and C influences
Chaos, creation, and order
Karma and the Principle Of Equilibrium

Higher centers
Adamic man
Bodies of man
Organic portal

There's plenty more when you search for it. Don't forget to search on http://cassiopaea.org/ as well.

Hope this helps a bit. :)
