I just read a Times articles which laid out the procedure for conducting an exorcism.

Apparently the leading exorcist in the Catholic Church is convinced that Satan has infiltrated the Vatican!!!!

Now, I have always wondered why exorcism would work on a Hindu or a Buddhist?

Are they going to go for a line like "In the name of Jesus...depart?"

Would holy water have any effect on them?

What about a Japanese Kami? Surely they wouldn't care less whether Christ's name was invoked or not?

I would think whether it would work (in general) or not would depend upon the agenda of the individual performing the exorcism. That is to say the individuals belief system and their intention in performing the exorcism.

The fact that he's performing so many of these and presumably having success leads me to think that these people aren't really possessed at all. I would think that anyone capable of really doing it wouldn't enter into this so lightly much less have the energy to endure such things for long.

I think this is just a way to make superheroes out of people who can't even be bothered to work on becoming decent men.

Exorcism rituals exist in Hinduism and Buddhism. These rituals use "mantras" and objects which are pertinent to these traditions. In Hinduism for example, the exorcist invokes the name of the deity who he/she worships or thinks would be able to help with the exorcism. Water from some local rivers are considered holy in the Hindu tradition - eg the river Ganges is usually considered holy in the some Northern and Eastern regions of India. Such holy water often sanctified through some rituals is used in exorcism. Exorcism rituals are described in the Vedas and other ancient Hindu texts.
Not knowing much about the topic of exorcism, I would venture the comment that perhaps the deity of choice invoked in exorcism rituals help in concentrating and intensifying the intent of the human beings involved in the ritual - kind of strength through belief I guess. Some practices like burning incense/sage, sprinkling "holy" water etc are shared across many traditions. Perhaps all these rituals practiced in varying forms by different present day traditions are watered down and somewhat corrupted versions of something practiced in the antiquity by people who knew exactly what they were doing?

The exorcism seems too depend upon the exorcist more than on the ritual he/she performs.
One possibility is that the exorcist impresses the possessed person with the ritual, and invoking the name of jesus, chrishna, allah, mickey mouse... so that the inner self of the possessed wakes up a moment and expels the entities or a part of them. Maybe the key is inside the possessed and the talented exorcist is a trigger for an inner fight?

A: Correct manner involves honesty and understanding that one has complete faith and
awareness of the activities pursued. In other words, when one performs an act which
they proclaim to be having a desired result, and they do not have faith in their own
actions as, in fact, producing the desired result, then the effort will collapse because of
their lack of faith. Whereas when one has complete faith and multidensity
understanding, their activities are indeed truth and useful as prescribed and this is the
correct way to pursue them.

Also I agree with Laura's conclusions regarding the influence of the Aunt and that being the possible explanation. I don't believe in the devil as portrayed by Christian doctrine. I think its a convenient threat to keep people putting money in church coffers and attending their rituals. However I do believe in possession of kinds not associated with the devil. I also believe that in the case of these possessions, most humans have it within themselves to help people in the grip of a possession of this kind. No violence or restraining is necessary. In my view, one needn't be a priest or any other type of religious authority. However, I believe three things are needed to accomplish the clearing of an entity from an individual . The first is belief, the second is will, and the third is an ability to visualise or plan.

I have read a website on SRT. It is comforting to know that the Cs said that exorcism could be accomplished by a technique which is similar to Reiki energy technology. I have done one SRT. At the time I had no idea what I was doing and intuitively used a method very similar to Reiki. Normally someone using this method would not have the personal (onboard) energy available to be able to perform this act. I used a different method and drew energy directly from the universe, channelling it through my body as a conduit. In this way I had no energy drain and an unlimited amount of energy available to use for the purpose. It worked, without all the hocus pocus and I didn't have to say anything verbally....i.e. "in the name of Jesus depart". I just had to touch the person during the process. For them it was a wild ride. I think this method is a good one. The proof was in the result. I don't know how I can do this, but I can. It was a strain on both my concentration and nervous system but I recovered quickly with no apparent drain of energy. The person had no recurrence of the possession and believed I'd helped them.


Whatever the catholic church thinks, the method they use is weak and I don't believe could work.

were rhetorical in nature? If they were, perhaps it would be externally considerate to phrase your thoughts in a way which is more clearly indicative of your stand in this matter right from the outset.
If your questions were indeed open questions, then please ignore what I have written and accept my apologies.

The problem I found with exorcism and even spirit release was that the very factors that make a person vulnerable still remain after the contaminating energies have been removed. And they usually go out and get "infected" again. So I quit doing it. Seems that a person has to make a choice at some point and then work on themselves. When they do that, the incongruent energies leave in a more natural way and the individual doesn't get re-contaminated.

In short, one really has to know what is free will here and usually, the person has not yet made the choice to get rid of the energies so you are violating free will by doing it for them and that can then come back on your head. Not a pleasant prospect.

I would also like to add to this, that for example in my situation, as I described before in the treat that I started 'how to send a dead dog to 5D', I experienced very strange occurances at the place that I rent. I actually thought at first that my place could be haunted by entities that were making the sound of a dog panting and other more disturbing sounds that I managed to tape on a voice activated tape recorder. I even considered the fact that I could have attracted some attachments that were making me hear things that were not actually there. The thing is that I live on my own, and the voices/sounds were tape recorded while I was sleeping. But, anyway, Laura mentioned that these voices could also be caused by electromagnetic anomalies that were part of the home where I live. I eventually got used to the noises and no longer lose my sleep over them. Well, there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, so why lose sleep over a problem I am unable to resolve unless I move out of hear, which I am seriously considering doing this year.

I personally do not believe in the devil and have never believed that my place was haunted by one. Though, I did consider the possibility that maybe a dead person was in need of attention and as a result caused the strange occurances at my residence. But as I realized later is that every situation is not as clear and there are many possibilities, and one needs to dig a little more and not get stressed out as I did at first.

My wife (Starlight) recently went through a hypnotherapy course with Cal Banyan. While it doesn't focus on SRT directly, it is taught as something that can come up during age regression accidentally. The system that Cal uses is interesting in light of Lauras comment, because the SRT method itself focus a lot on the entity (either a lost-in-3D "dead dude" or a more malevolent "Dark Force Entity") having the choice of whether to leave or not, but certain suggestions are made in such a way that they pretty much always want to leave (and am quite relieved to do so) in the end. Then, the system that Cal uses gives the patient a way to do spiritual cleanup so that it won't happen again. The cleanup method is similar in effect to the EE program, although it focuses on self-hypnotic suggestions rather than breating+meditation. They can probably be used together even for maximum effect.

So maybe that's the trick to doing SRT with more longlasting positive results: clean up whatever happened in the past, and then have a method to minimize the risk of it happening again in the future (either EE or the method Cal uses). What do you guys think about this? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Hi Foofighter,
I think that the method that your wife is using, self hypnotic suggestions, might work for some people. I found the answer in the EE breathing combined with meditation. I am not sure if someone guiding me thought hypnosis, as you suggested, could have helped me or not, as I have never been hypnotised by anyone. I did try self hypnosis CD's (with subliminal messages) at one point, but the effects lasted only a short time. I also tried holotropic breathwork which turned out to be quite a draining experience. My situation is a little different because my place could be affected by EM anomalies and not by entities. I have not had this place tested for EM field so I am not sure if that is what is causing the disturbances, but most likely it is. However, I have found my state of being at more ease living here with the help of EE breathing. I do agree with Laura that helping someone eliminate entity attachments constantly is interfering with that person's free will. Personally, I was caught in this mess of 'help me I am a victim' mentality. Fortunately everyone I know thought I was crazy when I told them that my place has been infested with dead dudes and I needed help getting rid of them. Even getting the proof on tapes did not help me get the attention I was requesting. But, that was a good thing because I found the answer here, on this forum. If someone in flesh and blood took me seriously and tried to help me, I think that the positive end result would not have lasted long anyway and i would have found myself where I started.

Maybe your wife should keep a journal on how many of her clients get succesful results and how long they last. You never, it can be a very succesful treatment. Not everyone trusts themselves that they can do all the work themselves, and therefore need help from the outside.

The main thing that helps, based on my experience, is what Castaneda referred to as "discipline." I don't think that suggestions or affirmations will do it ... in the end, you still have to "do the work." But suggestions and affirmations can give you more of an inclination to do the work and sometimes reinforce your desire to work. That is basically what the POTS is: the underpinning, rewiring programming for doing The Work.
