Explosion in the sky of Bordeaux (France)

The deafening noise scared many people. An explosion was heard Sunday at 14 hours throughout the Bordeaux region, but it is in fact only two fighters who have passed the sound barrier while catching up with an airliner lost radio signal.

"The firefighters were inundated with calls from concerned citizens, had initially said the prefecture of the Charente-Maritime, contacted by MetroNews, but it is only a fighter who has spent the sound barrier ". The daily Southwest then stated that it was two Rafale aircraft types. They would have departed from the airbase Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes, according iTV.

In early February, another aircraft had crossed the sound barrier over Laval (Mayenne). The army had apologized, this maneuver is normally prohibited above land.

I just wonder if this is the official version?

It does sound like another cover-up , but I'm not sure how powerful the explosion sounded? Apparently sonic booms aren't strong to rattle windows, etc ...

I think a similar cover up story happened a while ago too, that they blamed air planes for a most likely overhead explosion.

Here would be one source but only in French:

It's now (today) in all French media (radio and TV)

I think it is general more help if you could provide a link, even if it is French ;)

i can't find anything about this by Googling, but regards my comment about the sonic boom, AFAIK I remember it from this article : _http://www.sott.net/article/272763-Massive-overhead-boom-in-Northeast-Oklahoma-shakes-doors-and-rattles-windows-sonic-boom-from-military-fighter-jet-ruled-out

Near the bottom it says :

"Sonic booms caused by military jets were fairly common in the U.S. until the early 70s, when complaints from the public prompted the government to adopt rules to limit them.

Comment: So that rules military jets out then for all these overhead booms currently being reported in every state daily..."

Thanks, Gawan. I translated the page and I really don't believe it was aircraft... it's just happening too often of late.
