Facebook strangeness ?

Since very early this morning when trying to access FB and after entering my password i have had a constant reading of


Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Ok , but im wondering how said site maintenance works. I was thinking that it might be country specific , but it cant be because im getting notifications of messages to me from people from my country. So they are not effected by this. at least 14 hours have passed with no access.

Im not spooked just wondering how they choose who gets the maintenance treatment :D Any one have any ideas on this ?

Have you tried cycling your internet connection or restarting your computer?

This is quite normal for facebook. I get it all the time. Just never for 14 hours!

Don´t know what is meant by cycling internet connection , though i have just restarted computer with the same reading.

Cycling meaning your router. In essence doing a restart for your internet connection so you temporarily lose connection and then get it back. So unplug the router for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

Also, now that I think about it, there have been times when facebook has been down upwards of a day for me, so scratch what I said earlier about that.
