I was going to download it but then I saw this comment:
Time Masters, which I saw in an English dub, was a truly wonderful and exciting movie for the first fifty-five minutes. Excitement built and quite a few fascinating concepts were played with. But just as it looked like we were starting to get to the really good part...the mother of all Deus Ex Machinae occurred, everything changed, and the movie was over almost before you even had time to blink. I felt cheated out of the time I'd put into watching the movie.
If it had simply been a bad movie, that would have been one thing. But to have been a good and exciting movie until the very last five minutes, with no indication whatsoever that it was about to end until it _did_...that really hurt.
Is it true?
Well, without giving out too many spoilers, the movie does end with a feeling that there should be a part two or a following episode that will explain everything, especially the reason for the title - "Time Masters". On the other hand, it is based on the sci-fi novel L'Orphelin de Perdide (The Orphan of Perdide) by Stefan Wul that centers around little boy stranded on the planet called Perdide. And even if I haven't read the book, it is possible that the author also doesn't go into details too much. It has a feeling that what ever happened was like a snapshot of something mysterious (and horrific) in ones person's life that only led to something more mysterious. In any case, I would recommend watching it just for the wonderful and "out of this world" atmosphere and quite an interesting plot. It has innocence, wonder, really scary moments (it's not a cartoon for children), and even smart and funny telepathic creatures, and creepy unified thought center disguised as "faceless angels". But that's, imo. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea.
Added: Btw, you can watch it in 8 parts on youtube:

And just to add something, that this time has some **spoilers**... also sorry for the graphic description.
I have a memory from the childhood (don't know what age, but no more than 7) of seeing soldiers stationed somewhere near the water. And soon some of them were found dead with a big hole in their scull and their brains sucked out. Later they realized that there were giant hornet/mosquitoes living near the water and they were attacking and hunting them. But for some reason soldiers couldn't leave. I remember seeing survivors of the attack and then others as well being operated and their heads covered with metal plates to protect them from the hornets sucking their brains out. So strong was the affect from this memory, that it felt as if I was actually there or even given the plate myself.
Now, this movie (Time Masters) was playing at that time in Russian theaters or perhaps TV. I have a vague memory of seeing this movie back then. But there are no soldiers in the movie, and the plot is different. So it is still a mystery to me, how at that age, unless there was another similar movie (though according to other post Soviet Union people, the censorship would never allow it on screen) my mind could create such an elaborate and quite a horrific storyline. But hey, perhaps I am that imaginative. But if you heard about a similar plot in movies or books, would greatly appreciate being given the title!
