On a recent visit to this "belly of the beast"(imho) part of the u s, a rare sort of midnight inspiration occured. Out came the pen & paper(and the guitar)......reggaeish is how it was played.

The Bully Sam:

The bully Sam is a worried man,
"Cause he thought he had the world in his hand.
But changes come like the shifting of the sand.
Do you know?

Well he eats upon a golden plate,
While numbers of hungry are growing at a steady rate.
He can't see that the hour is getting late,
But do you know?

Sam stays informed through the evening news
And it shapes his mind, creates his views.
As he buys their lies, he misses the clues
Do you know?

His sleek new car speeds down the highway,
He has egos to feed and big money to be made,
And so he denies these are the end of his days,
Do you know?

Sam thinks marshall law will be just fine,
We'll round up all of those who don't tote the party line,
A world fascist state in very little time,
Do you know?

But soon ash blocks out Sam's sunny skies,
And the pumps sucking oil all run dry and die
His new world order was borne of lies,
Do you know?

And as the waves crash upon Sam's weakened door
The walls of his palace crumble to the floor.
A real shock and awe is what's in store,
Do you know?

Of course no preaching to the choir needed.
