The Vermont State Police say there is no evidence that drugs or alcohol were a factor in former FBI director Louis Freeh's crashing his SUV in Barnard on Monday.

Freeh, 64, of Wilmington, Del., was back in surgery Tuesday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where he remains under armed guard, the authorities said. He received serious injuries in the wreck.

Freeh was southbound on a rural stretch of Vermont 12 in Barnard in a 50 mph zone when he drove his 2010 GMC Yukon off the left side of the road at about 12:15 p.m., the police said.
Barnard is about a 80-minute drive southeast of Burlington.

The vehicle struck a mailbox and a row of shrubs, then came to rest against the side of a tree, the preliminary investigation by Trooper Mark Harvey shows.

The top of Freeh's SUV was cut off by White River Valley Ambulance, Barnard Fire Department and Barnard First Response to free him during the rescue, police said. Freeh was airlifted from Vermont 12 to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

There were no signs of skid marks or brake marks, investigators said.

Freeh, whose family has a vacation home in Barnard, was traveling alone. He was wearing his seat belt, the police said.

Troopers have been unable to interview Freeh, but investigators hope to speak with him by the end of the week, said state police Lt. William Jenkins, station commander for the Royalton barracks. He said the section of road was relatively straight and flat.

Capt. Ray Keefe, state police commander for southeastern Vermont, said troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Police said they will attempt to sort out whether Freeh fell asleep at the wheel, whether he was distracted, or whether there was a medical or mechanical issue.

Once the investigation is complete, a Uniform Crash Report will be submitted to the Vermont Division of Motor Vehicles.

Vermont Public Safety Commissioner Keith Flynn said Tuesday that he continued to investigate why state police needed eight hours to release information about the crash. A Fox 44/ABC 22 news crews videoed the scene, and a photographer from the Vermont Standard, a newsweekly in nearby Woodstock, also covered the crash.

Flynn said Freeh's "safety and security" were important, but it was unclear why police waited to issue an official news release and refused to transfer phone calls to the night commander in southern Vermont.

The crash was first reported by media in Washington, D.C., citing anonymous sources. The Vermont State Police news release followed those initial reports by nearly two more hours, arriving at 8:22 p.m.

Freeh and his wife had dinner with U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and Leahy's wife in southern Vermont a few weeks ago, according to the senator's spokesman David Carle.

"The senator has been in touch with the Freeh family," Carle said. He said the senator likely would have no further comment.

Leahy and Freeh have been friends for more than 20 years, Carle said. Part of the friendship developed when Leahy headed the Senate committee that oversees the FBI.

Freeh, a former federal judge, was the FBI's director from 1993 to 2001. At the FBI, he oversaw some of the largest and most complex investigations in the bureau's history, including the crash of TWA flight 800, the Centennial Olympic Park bombing, the Unabomber, the spy case against the FBI's own Robert Hanssen, and the Khobar Towers bombing.

He founded Freeh Group International Solutions, a consulting group with offices in Washington; Wilmington, Del.; and New York City.

In recent years, Freeh and his law firm compiled an independent report into Penn State University's handling of the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse case. The report was critical of the way the university handled allegations that Sandusky, a former assistant under head football coach Joe Paterno, sexually assaulted numerous young boys over the years.

No big surprise that the article omitted Freeh's role and responsibility in stirring up national hysteria and railroading former Los Alamos scientist Dr. Wen Ho Lee . Freeh is a psychopath like his friends Janet Reno and George Tenet, and the group of them along with the New York Times conspired to scapegoat Dr. Lee in order to divert attention from Clinton presidential impeachment.

Even if you never heard of the Wen Ho Lee case, surely you remember Richard Jewel and the Olympic bombing. Another great job by Freeh.

Is an armed guard the usual procedure? Why do they think his life is in danger? After all he was driving alone.

You're right hlat, Freeh certainly has a "history."

Louis Freeh was appointed by George H.W. Bush to the federal bench in 1991. In the first year of Bill Clinton’s presidency, Clinton named Freeh head of the FBI. Right from the start, the Freeh FBI was drenched in controversy. The “screw-ups” were legion
—from the exposure of fraudulent FBI crime lab results to the wrongful blaming of an innocent man for the bombings at the Atlanta Olympics—to the bloody standoff and shootout at Ruby Ridge.

Freeh vs the Clintons

In order to move the heat off himself and his agency, Freeh made political peace with Newt Gingrich and his firebrand GOP Congressional operation, deflecting the political pressure back onto the White House. He did this via a Campaign Finance Task Force under the auspices of his parent agency, the Justice Department, established in December of 1996 after Clinton’s re-election. This became, prior to 9/11, what some say was the largest federal investigation in U.S. history.

Over 300 FBI agents were assigned to the investigation, which targeted both Clinton and Gore. No one was ever indicted but a steady drip of leaked stories pounded Gore particularly—feeding the damaging story line that he was a captive of the China Lobby and possibly even compromised by certain foreign intelligence services. This long-simmering PR crisis did serious damage to Al Gore’s prospects in 2000, and thereby aided the campaign of George W. Bush, son of Freeh’s original sponsor.

Freeh, the Saudis and Terrorism

Even more fraught was Freeh’s behavior during the investigation of the massive bombing of U.S. military facilities at the Khobar Towers development in Saudi Arabia. According to the former counterintelligence officials Daniel Benjamin and Steven Simon in the book The Age of Sacred Terror, Clinton foreign policy officials felt that Freeh was deeply influenced by the Saudi power structure.

Eventually, Freeh, according to the authors, called the elder Bush and asked him to intervene with Crown Prince Abdullah to allow FBI agents to watch through a one-way mirror while Saudi agents questioned Khobar bombing suspects. They allege that he ignored the chain of command and Clinton’s National Security Council in bringing Bush Sr. into these sensitive negotiations.

In his memoirs, Freeh claimed that Clinton suspected the Saudis, while suggesting that he himself was convinced that Iranian operatives had executed the bombing. (It’s important here to note the Bush family’s long and close ties to the Saudi royal family and the political agenda at work in shifting blame to the hated Iranians.)

Freeh also curtailed FBI agent John P. O’Neill’s investigation into a possible Al Qaeda role in the Khobar bombing and the later attacks on the USS Cole in Yemen. Freeh even pulled O’Neill out of Yemen during the Cole investigation. By transferring O’Neill to New York City, Freeh sided with U.S. Ambassador Barbara Bodine, a Clinton holdover in the new Bush administration, and with Saudi officials who wanted O’Neill out of their way. The aim, it appears, was to shield certain suspects (and any possible sponsors) from over-zealous American investigators. Later, Freeh thwarted O’Neill’s efforts to become head of the FBI NYC field office.

In an extraordinary turn of events, John O’Neill died in the destruction of the Twin Towers—which were allegedly brought down by a group of hijackers dominated by Saudi nationals.

Haven't come across any more news on Louis Freeh since his "accident" exactly a week ago but found the timing of this News idem interesting?

Penn State Asks for Civility in Discussing Sandusky Scandal
_http://wnep.com/2014/09/05/penn-state-asks-for-civility-in-discussing-sandusky-scandal/

Friday September 5, 2014

UNIVERSITY PARK- The president of Penn State University sent a message to alumni and Nittany Lions supporters Friday asking them to be “civil” in their discussion of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal and the way the university handled it.

“The question is whether a lack of civility in discussing these issues will create a deeper divide, one that alters the remarkable bond that exists between all those who are a part of the Penn State community,” wrote university president Eric Barron.

Barron’s message comes on the eve of Penn State’s first home football game of the James Franklin era as the Nittany Lions head coach. Barron was also recently hired as the university’s president. He acknowledged the scandal and how the university handled it is reason for much debate and many differing opinions.

“There are honest disagreements on fundamental issues related to whether our institution acted appropriately, how our institution handled a crisis, and whether the sanctions that resulted are appropriate,” Barron wrote. “The reasons for this disagreement are clear. Much is still left to interpretation and the issues have considerable emotional significance to us all. We are likely never to have the full story. We are equally likely never to reach consensus”

Barron says uncivil debate on the issue has broken up friendships, alienated long-time Penn State supporters and caused distress for Board of Trustee candidates.

“Respect is a core value at Penn State University. We ask you to consciously choose civility and to support those whose words and actions serve to promote respectful disagreement and thereby strengthen our community,” he wrote.

Part of the university’s handling of the Sandusky scandal including the firing of legendary coach Joe Paterno. His son Jay Paterno responded to Barron’s letter on Friday.

“Squelching dissent by labeling those we disagree with as being disrespectful or not being civil is an easy way to try to vilify those with opinions unlike our own,” wrote Paterno on his online blog. “Stating the truth is not incivility and is not disrespectful.”

Monday September 8, 2014 - At Penn State`s Hazleton campus, the students were getting great news, right at the start of a new school year.

The NCAA announced it is lifting some of the sanctions imposed against the school after the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal broke in 2011.

All athletic scholarships will be restored in the 2015-2016 school year and the NCAA is lifting the school`s ban on postseason games immediately, which means that the Nittany Lions could see a bowl game this year.

Students also say knowing they could get into a bowl game will make this season even more intense. The last time Penn State played in a bowl game was in January 2012, before the sanctions were imposed.

POLL: Penn State Penalties Reduced (video)

Monday September 8, 2014 - An independent monitor recommends lessening the NCAA penalties against Penn State that were put in place after the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.

George Mitchell, the independent Athletics Integrity Monitor for Penn State and former U.S. senator, recommended making Penn State bowl eligible this year and restoring full scholarships starting in the 2015-16 season.

Mitchell has been investigating the changes made by Penn State after Jerry Sandusky, the former assistant football coach, was arrested for abusing boys.

Penn State lost football scholarships, was banned from bowl games, and was fined $60 million. The NCAA has also returned all 85 football scholarships to Penn State, beginning in 2015-16.

Monday September 8, 2014 - UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The NCAA Executive Committee has modified the Penn State football bowl and scholarship limitations previously imposed by the consent decree between the University and the NCAA. The action comes following today's release of another positive annual report and recommendations by Sen. George Mitchell, the independent, third-party athletics integrity monitor for Penn State.

The Penn State football team will be eligible for a bowl game beginning this season, and scholarship limitations will be restored to the full complement of 85 beginning in 2015. All financial penalties remain in place.

Concurrently, the Big Ten announced Penn State would be eligible to play in the Big Ten Championship game starting this season.

"Senator Mitchell's report and recommendations, along with the actions taken by the NCAA today, are a recognition of the hard work of many over the past two years to make Penn State a stronger institution," said Penn State President Eric Barron. "This is welcome news for the University community, particularly for our current and future student-athletes.

This is the second annual report issued by Mitchell, who was named by the NCAA as the independent monitor for Penn State to oversee the Athletics Integrity Agreement signed by Penn State, the Big Ten and the NCAA. He has provided quarterly updates to the University and general public on the University's compliance with the Athletics Integrity Agreement.

"This report is a welcome acknowledgement of the University's efforts," said Board of Trustees Chair Keith Masser. "Such a massive undertaking has made Penn State a national model in an array of university functions - including compliance, safety and security. I commend President Barron and his predecessor, Rodney Erickson, for their tremendous leadership throughout this process. The Board of Trustees is committed to the continued monitoring and improvement of university policies, procedures and actions."

Now it's being reported that he fell asleep at the wheel. If he's falling asleep at the wheel during the day, then I would think he has something medically wrong. Or they're lying.

Police: Former FBI Director Louis Freeh likely fell asleep before car crash

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
September 03, 2014 - 4:25 pm EDT

BARNARD, Vermont — Former FBI Director Louis Freeh likely fell asleep at the wheel and drifted across the road before the car crash last week that severely injured him in Vermont, state police said Wednesday.

Freeh was interviewed and does not remember why he crashed in Barnard on Aug. 25, Vermont State Police said. His lack of memory, the circumstances of the crash and lack of a mechanical problem means Freeh likely fell asleep, police said, while acknowledging that they may never know what happened.

Police have said drugs and alcohol weren't factors in the crash and Freeh, who lives in Wilmington, Delaware, will not be charged.

Freeh, 64, was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, after the accident. The hospital on Wednesday would not provide any information about his condition.

State Police Capt. Ray Keefe said police did not consider if Freeh was using a cellphone before the crash, and did not examine his phone, because the accident was not consistent with one of a distracted driver; no brake or swerve marks were left on the road.

Freeh issued a statement Friday through the office of U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy saying he was grateful for the care and support he has received since he was injured. He thanked several officials including Vice President Joe Biden and FBI Director James Comey as well as FBI agents and employees.

Now it's being reported that he fell asleep at the wheel. If he's falling asleep at the wheel during the day, then I would think he has something medically wrong. Or they're lying.

Don't know whether it's applicable to a 2010 GMC Yukon SUV, but there have been reports not too long ago about the possibility of hacked remote control over certain vehicles and I've seen at least one video clip in which such remote control was demonstrated to be fairly simple in execution, relatively speaking of course.

So maybe some agency tried to finish him off and failed on purpose just to give him a warning he cannot ignore? Just speculating here, fwiw.

I think this psychopath Freeh is not worth spending any more time or energy discussing.

There is a piece on VT with speculated background of this "accident supposedly caused with "Dazzler":

Dazzlers are DEW weapons used for temporarily blinding or stunning a human target, this report says, or to disable a driver in a moving vehicle. Targets can also include mechanical sensors or aircraft and emit infrared or invisible light against various electronic sensors, and visible light against humans, but cause no long-term damage to eyes.

The emitters are usually lasers, making what is termed a laser dazzler. Most of the contemporary systems are man-portable, and operate in either the red (a laser diode) or green (a diode-pumped solid-state laser, DPSS) areas of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Supposedly it was used in Paris recently:

Acting upon information received by Pegasus during an operation earlier this month (18 August as they brazenly attacked a Saudi Arabian embassy convoy in Paris) where in the documents seized, Freeh was implicated (among many others) of planning a massive terror attack in both the US and EU, The President found it necessary to act swiftly to insure the message was sent to Freeh’s associates.

Some curious insinuations:

Unfortunately for Freeh, however, this report concludes, is that Obama has split from the Clinton’s and instead of seeing Iran as an “enemy”, has instead embraced them and identified as his main adversaries Saudi Arabia and Israel…both of whom he “personally blames” for 9/11 attacks upon America…along with Freeh.

The attack on Freeh sends a clear message. “We are aware of your intentions. Stand Down or Pay the Price.”

Spooky

The comments on the VT article identify the source of this information as Sorcha Faal, so take it with a huge grain of salt. I really hope the stories about the good guys in the military and intel cowboys taking on the crazies that have been running things, rolling into DC and rounding up all the traitors are true, but the sources are always known disinfo agents like Benjamin Fulford and Sorcha Faal. It seems like our only hope and I can't help indulging in a little wishful thinking but I don't believe it.
