I experienced something odd about half an hour ago. As I was paying bills online for my mom, I seemed to see a bright green flash originating from more-or-less directly behind me somewhere. I had actually just finished filling out the credit card information on the screen, unnervingly. The "flash" seemed extremely brief, not like camera or lightning flashes which typically have somewhat of a "fade-away" time - even if it's a fraction of a second, it's perceivable. It was like there-then-gone.
My first thoughts were that it could be:
1. Lightning?
2. A camera flash? Through a window, perhaps?
3. An electric device in the room behind me flashing a light or burning out? No idea what...
4. Something unusual/hyperdimensional?
5. And of course; A trick of the mind/perceptions?
I stood up to investigate, and when I turned a corner and looked toward the dining room, I seemed to see another "flash" under the table!
Super brief - maybe I saw it move or fade out of view, but it was there-then-gone like the first. I'm not sure it looked exactly like ordinary "cast" light, as it didn't light up the whole room or reflect off surrounding objects like I would expect.
Notably, there is a window to the dining room without blinds - only partly covered. The boom part of the window is at about eye level for me when I'm outside so maybe a light could have been flashed through the window, but it seems unlikely to me.
My first impression both times was that the "light" was from inside the house. Whatever the case, it weirded me out a bit, and I didn't find any clues as to what it could be. The weather (and near forecast) is currently clear for my area. I asked my brother if he saw anything in his room upstairs - nothing.
6. A green fireball outside shining through windows? But the brief nature of the "light" and the different angles of the two places I saw it seem to rule that out most likely.
Anyway, I may never know what it was, but I thought I'd post about it here. My attempted internet search didn't turn up any info aside from this blue flash someone saw, which seems a bit different:

Has anyone else had experiences like this? I have on one or two other occasions thought I might have seen a flash of white light fill the room I was in for a fraction of a second, but I was not sure.
My heebie-jeebies are mostly cooled down now. ;)
