Flash of green "light" - twice???

The Living Force
I experienced something odd about half an hour ago. As I was paying bills online for my mom, I seemed to see a bright green flash originating from more-or-less directly behind me somewhere. I had actually just finished filling out the credit card information on the screen, unnervingly. The "flash" seemed extremely brief, not like camera or lightning flashes which typically have somewhat of a "fade-away" time - even if it's a fraction of a second, it's perceivable. It was like there-then-gone.

My first thoughts were that it could be:

1. Lightning?
2. A camera flash? Through a window, perhaps?
3. An electric device in the room behind me flashing a light or burning out? No idea what...
4. Something unusual/hyperdimensional?
5. And of course; A trick of the mind/perceptions?

I stood up to investigate, and when I turned a corner and looked toward the dining room, I seemed to see another "flash" under the table! :scared: Super brief - maybe I saw it move or fade out of view, but it was there-then-gone like the first. I'm not sure it looked exactly like ordinary "cast" light, as it didn't light up the whole room or reflect off surrounding objects like I would expect.

Notably, there is a window to the dining room without blinds - only partly covered. The boom part of the window is at about eye level for me when I'm outside so maybe a light could have been flashed through the window, but it seems unlikely to me.

My first impression both times was that the "light" was from inside the house. Whatever the case, it weirded me out a bit, and I didn't find any clues as to what it could be. The weather (and near forecast) is currently clear for my area. I asked my brother if he saw anything in his room upstairs - nothing.

6. A green fireball outside shining through windows? But the brief nature of the "light" and the different angles of the two places I saw it seem to rule that out most likely.

Anyway, I may never know what it was, but I thought I'd post about it here. My attempted internet search didn't turn up any info aside from this blue flash someone saw, which seems a bit different:

Has anyone else had experiences like this? I have on one or two other occasions thought I might have seen a flash of white light fill the room I was in for a fraction of a second, but I was not sure.

My heebie-jeebies are mostly cooled down now. ;)

A few years ago I experienced weird flashes similar as what you're describing, especially at night, they lasted a split second, coming out of nowhere, as in within the room, with no possibilities of coming from a camera or car headlights for exemple.

I have no idea what they were or why and it never happened again but it sure surprised/scared me a lot :D

That thought did cross my mind. It couldn't have been a laser pointer since the "light" was bright and covered large areas, but someone playing a prank could be an explanation. Seems more likely than most of my list.

When a teenager I woke up at night to strong flashing lights illuminating my second story room. Windows had only a thin transparent curtain. I wondered, if there is a large sparkler outside? By its illumination on the walls I judged it slowly cruised down the street and by the time I got out of bed and tried to look, I saw only very little, the very back-end of it. It was big like a car and flaming and looked like shooting sparkles "in every directions", behind it for sure. Next day while walking outside I was taken aback when noticing one of the large - about 20 meter 65 feet tall trees (like these _http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6127/6002739211_1e4afa2c2c_m.jpg)
bordering the soccer field, clearly burned-blasted off, only the base was intact, a couple of feet high, big charred chunk of a tree trunk remaining with broken parts - like blow out ribs - protruding out.

It couldn't have been arson, since that big fiery thing was slowly levitating towards the trees silently at night. Still wonder, what it was and why I was so startled-slow that i missed getting a good look at it.

I very often see my mobile phone flashing with the corner of my eye, even when the battery is out of it. Also other electrical devices, and sometimes objects that have no electricity in them.

Lately, it happened to me couple of times, I woke up (or I think I woke up) and I could see entire room lit with some golden dots which are swaying all around the room. And I sleep in total dark room.

My mom thinks she found the explanation. She has no idea what they were doing, but she saw a green light shining around inside out neighbors' house more recently - the house across from the dining room window. So whatever that was probably shined through the window. It must have been bright for me to see it at the computer, all the way across the house, but it seems possible.

Hi guys. I just saw two flashes one right after the other just now, 12:30am aprox around the hudson river area in New Jersey.

A sudden flash of the eyes can make you and the result of spasm or cramp blood vessels, and the intensity and color of light depends on the amount of blood in the circulation of the eye. What is a spasm of blood vessels stronger and narrowing their larger, it is the blood flow in the eye smaller.
Reduced ocular circulation may have several causes. The most common is increased or decreased blood pressure.
Apart from these, common reasons for the emergence of various light phenomena in the eyes of the acute stress, changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmia), altered composition of the blood, or the pressure of the vertebrae in the neck arteries, giving rise to their constriction and consequently reducing the blood circulation in the head and eyes. The flash and shimmer occur within the framework of ophthalmic diseases such as acute glaucoma, separation (ablation) and the retina as a result of degenerative changes in the retina with high myopia. Are possible to spray yellow spot (macula), exposure to physical factors such as glare and prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Perhaps it would be great if you visit the eye doctor.
