I was reading a magasine and an article about a new technology.

It is a personnal scanner who can detects every components of food, and all potential allergens in it.
Honnestly, i am a little sceptical, but we can keep an eye on this, to see how it can evolve.

Thanks for sharing. It does sound very interesting and makes star trek come to life imo. Also when I'm skeptical about these inventions too and with a keto or paleo diet much of the food is already out of the question. Eventually this gadget could take away further thinking and being aware as much as possible what someone puts in the mouth, in the sense of not reading any labels anymore. But it may be helpful for a lot of other people.

Your skepticism is warranted. The product does not yet actually exist, and the best case scenario is that it will analyze whatever *surface* of the food you point it to. In other words, if you point it to mashed potatoes covered in gravy, it will only measure the gravy. Unless you have the habit of running your dinner through a blender before consumption...

Correct me if i am wrong but the goal of a spectrometer is not to know what a matter, inside, is composed of?

My doubts are more about the completness of the database.
Gluten, for example. How many type of gluten's molecules this machine can detect to say if there is gluten or not?
