Hi Starsailor
In answer to your question"have i seen a craft" Well heres the story
In 1997 ,the year of Hale Boperoonie and around the same time i think,i attended the Reading Rock Festival.Because of the circle of people i was with in those days i had a back stage pass so i had my tent on beautiful rock soil.People wore teeshirts with f reading f your tent written on them as it is nigh impossable to not bend the tent pegs on the stone ground covered in grass.
Anyways the stone Roses had just been paid a lot of money to reform and where playing on the sunday, but by saturday night i was bored with it all and really wanted to go back to Liverpool. I discovered that a band from Liverpool where playing the saturday night called "Space" and as i knew their manager i asked him whether the "lads" where staying untill sunday to watch the Roses or where going to go back to Liverpool after the gig.He said they where going straight back and he was driving them home in his merc so i could get a ride in the pop mobile.
This is one of those smart vans with a tv fridge and nice sitting space in.There where two stage crew in the front and myself and a guy called Yorkie (Yorky?) the lighting guy in the back.He went on to be their bass player.
Anyways im in the van travelling along the motorway through the countryside,no drugs in my body and no alchahol, yes i know rock and roll, but i didnt. It is around 10pm i should imagine but the time i did not know as i dont wear a watch. It was dark.
Uphead in the distant (not hotel California) in the sky i saw a light which i took to be a helicopter it was in my vision for about 10 or more minuits, and then we pulled into a motorway service station.where we bought coffee and so on.
Now my memory of the service station as i remember it was that i noticed it didnt have a name,i didnt see one.they usually have in your face names like little chef or something.,i didnt see one, though it doesnt mean it didnt have one.
We gets back in the van and there was no helicopter/light in the sky that i noticed, nor was i looking for one, though i do and have done most of my life looked to the stars.
We where now back on the road for about 10 -15 minuits, still very dark and in the countryside.Up ahaead i saw a light on the left hand side of the motorway,as we got nearer it started to take shape,it was triangular.
As we got even closer it took on dimensions it was obviously a pyramid shape of light. Now i never reacted in anyway to this, never mentioned it,spoke out aloud and now we where virtually next to it.It was about 5 meters/15 foot in height maybe a little bigger and though it was full of light it didnt cast light and that doesnt make sense.
The tree it was next to was dark, though it happened quite fast,so i could be totally wrong here.
I turned to Yorkie, and my first words and calmly in Liverpool/scouse slang/language was "What is that" I didnt want to tell him what i was thinking what it was.
His answer was "its a 25th century flying fangdangle" which in scouse means its a craft of futuristic proportions.I then asked "Why are you not excited" (I wasnt either,it was just there.)
His answer was "Because i dont disbelieve in them, and theres one there"
I kid you not that was what he said.
That was that and we whizzed passed the thing, the drivers if they saw it never mentioned it,i mean how could they not.
Anyways thats my wee story.Dont know what time we got back so i dont know if there was any time interference whatsoever.Dont feel that there was,but how would i know.
I didnt even think much about it untill i volunteered to work in a Oxfam book shop in Lancaster just over a year later and took home some UFO magazines from there which where going to get thrown out..
Hell writting this it just dawned on me how quick my life changed from 1997 to 1998.I mean i left England in just over a year i think.have to check that out.Hmmm.
In Denmark in around 2000 i lived in a log cabin kind of thing with no electricity but my radio could pick up talk radio in England, and when i heard Nick Pope was on i just rang up and told my story.James whale commented that basically i was a nut job and thats why i was in Denmark.
I may still have the recording on tape of that somewhere.
