Former IRS Agent Sherry Peel Jackson Dying in Federal Prison

JonnyRadar

The Living Force
I searched the SOTT site and the forums both for this but couldn't find it anywhere. I know quite a few people here have seen "America, Freedom to Fascism." Sherry Peel Jackson is the former IRS agent who said in the film that she hadn't filed a return in years. She's now in prison and being denied proper medical care for Graves Disease.

Here's her letter from prison that explains what's happening. This is from: _http://www.dailypaul.com/node/117433

Lindsey Springer here and I write to you not to simply ask you to close your eyes and pray but afterwards to get up and lift your head high and while you are at it grab your phone and call Congressman Hank Johnson as I have done at:

Washington, DC Office
1133 Longworth HOB
Washington, D.C. 20515
Phone: (202) 225-1605
Fax: (202) 226-0691

or

Let your voice be heard by calling both places and be polite but firm demanding to know what is going on with Sherry Peel Jackson. Remind the Congressman or his staff that she is a former IRS Agent and was not sentenced to death but merely misdemeanors only. Many are watching this so after you get done saying your prayer for Sherry I pray you hear God's call back at ya and pick up that phone and call either or both numbers above. We are all Sherry Peel Jacksons.

Sherry's letter:

I am Sherry Peel Jackson, your former CPA. I am writing you because I am concerned about my health and my life. Prior to becoming a political prisoner I was the picture of health.

In late June, 2009 I started experiencing a rapid heart beat on an irregular basis. Since this had happened infrequently in the past I did not think much of it. However, in Mid July it started happening on a regular basis and I became concerned. I went to the medical staff twice in Mid July only to be given a one-minute EKG test and powerful meds without proper diagnosis. I did not take them because I had not been seen by a specialist.

One week later, on July 21 at 12:45am I left the dorm in flip flops to go tell the officers that I was having a heart attack. The officers on duty called the ambulance and the ambulance checked my heart on their portable EKG machine. It was beating at 150 beats per minute. They took me to Leesberg (spelling) hospital where I remained until Friday, July 24th at 11:30pm. During the hospital stay it was determined that my heart was healthy but my thyroid was producing too much hormone, thus speeding up my heart.

This is called hyperthyroidism or Graves disease. I was given two medications by the hospital - Methimazole, which is an anti-thyroid agent used to reduce the amount of thyroid hormone produced by the body and Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker used to slow the heart. The hospital doctor told me that in four weeks (approximately August 21) the prison medical unit was to do blood tests to determine how the thyroid medication was affecting my body.

The blood test was taken in late August and I was told that I would be placed on the appointment schedule to come over and review the results. I was never called. I went over in early September and inquired of Dr. DeLeon as to how to get blood test results. He told me to put in a request to staff, so I did that on September 15th. It simply asked to see the results of the tests.

Sometime after September 23rd I received a response in writing, from Ms. Marich, that stated that I could either make a sick call (come over early in the morning wait in line and fill out forms) or come to Open House to see the results. Open house is held only on Thursdays from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. I went to Open House Thursday September 30th and was told by Ms. Marich that she could not find the results! I watched her look through and around several piles of folders in her office but at no time did she look on a computer for them. She told me to check back later.

On Wednesday October 28th I passed out around 4pm and was taken to medical and cleared. On Friday October 30th my lips started turning black as if I had been a lifelong smoker. By Sunday November 1st my lips were fully black.

My boss, the Chaplain, called medical and a male nurse was sent over from the medium security men's prison on this complex (there are two maximum security, one medium security and one low security men's prisons on this complex with the women's camp). He took my blood pressure and oxygen and said there was nothing else he could do. He told me to go to sick call Monday morning, which I did. I showed Mr. Coucho my lips and told him that something was wrong with my blood, I could tell. (I am leaving out gross details here). He said I would be put on the schedule.

However, the very next day, Tuesday morning, November 3rd, I found blood in my stool and rushed over to medical because I am smart enough to know that this is a major problem. I was chewed out for coming over to medical without a staff member telling me to come. I told Charlie, the female nurse and Mr. Coucho the PA that I was in the hospital in July, never got the blood work results and something was terribly wrong. I was 46 years old and I know my body! I finally convinced them that I was not playing and was not stupid, so they 'treated' me with a packet for a stool sample test.

Mr. Coucho looked on the computer for the blood test results from August and found them there! The blood test showed a problem with the thyroid way back then! He said I would be put on the schedule for new blood work later that week because these results were too old. He had a short conversation with Dr. DeLeon in Spanish and then said the thyroid count was off. This was November 3rd. I administered the stool tests and returned them to Nurse Charlie on Friday November 6th.

Today is November 26th, Thanksgiving. I have not received the results of the stool test. I have not been given any new blood test. My neck is swelling up like a blow fish and I am having trouble talking. I have been feeling very ill for the last two weeks.

Congressman, I don't want them to kill me in here. As you well know, I am being punished for exposing government fraud. However, millions of people don't file tax returns and I was just used as an example by the DOJ for their new program called the Tax Defiers Initiative.

I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. I have already spent 21 months in prison for a non crime, and I refuse to come out dead or maimed for life. I have not caused these people any problems. This is no threat but just for your information. I also wrote the warden today. Things can't go on this way as I languish in here for someone's political gain. God doesn't like ugly and He is the ultimate judge and vindicator.

I wonder if it would also be welcome, to send Sherry a card. Just to let her know that she is thought of and that many people support her.

Does anyone know if prisons allow mail from unknown, or unregistered people?

I don't know for sure but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to send one off. People in prison do get mail, yes, and it's screened before it goes in, so I suppose there's no guarantee it would get to her...

Her situation was covered on SOTT in the Best of Web category
http://www.sott.net/articles/show/198240-America-Freedom-to-Fascism-Star-Sherry-Jackson-is-Being-Murdered

The latest information I could find about her is from January 6th _http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?noframes;read=164124 that she was moved to Tallahassee, Florida.

Edit (Added):
Looks like she was moved and is now in solitary confinement as per http://www.freesherry.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
1/31/10 Update Sherry is being held in solitary confinement. Her new address is below:

1/8/10 Update I received this email from Sherry's husband...

She is being held in the SHU (Solitary Holding Unit) in FCI Tallahassee, FL. She is allowed one phone call per week, three showers per week and is confined to her quarters almost 24 hours per day. She has been moved only twice in the last year and a half. She was in Coleman for a little over a year, then to Bushnell, FL for four days (about three and a half weeks ago), and now Tallahassee, FL (since about three weeks ago). Ryan, give me a call if you have any other questions. Thanks

God bless you.

In Christ,
Colin

12/17/09 Update I received this email from Sherry's husband...

Sherry was moved to a new facility on 12-16-09. Her spirit is strong but, I'm concerned about the kind of medical attention she may or may not get. I'm also concerned that our planned trip to see her this Christmas may be canceled. Her new address is:

Sherry Peel Jackson
Booking # 2009-003275
ID # 0227712
P.O. Box 188
219 East Anderson Ave.
Bushnell, FL 33513
(352)793-0225

They said that the reason they moved her was because they are investigating whether or not she contacted the media (which is supposedly a violation of the BOP). A magazine came to the prison with her picture on the cover and a copy of the letter she wrote to Congressman Hank Johnson. She DID NOT contact any media and a very small investigation would show that without her being moved.

I feel the need to ask you to please, when you are corresponding with the prison, our Congressman and others, to be very clear but cordial. I do understand the emotions that come when you learn of wrongdoings and how you want to express those emotions. But, when anger and vile is expressed in those letters and phone calls, it works against what we are trying to accomplish. I spoke with my Congressman's office and they are trying to work on Sherry's behalf, but it's very difficult for them sometimes when they are being screamed at and bombarded with negativity.

I pray and hope that you understand my position and that you will keep these things in mind as you continue to send letters and place phone calls for her freedom. I am forever indebted to all of you.

God bless you.

In Christ,
Colin

Thanks for sharing that, Bear.

I just found this thread so I did a search to see what happened to Sherry. Thankfully, she did survive; although, I'm sure she went through hell. She has run a blog here since August 2011.

Here is her second blog post, giving some basic information about her stay in prison:

Hi Everyone!

I finally have the little shackle off my left leg and am out of the custody of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). I am going to clear up some misconceptions, give you a brief summary of my journey and tell you of some of my future plans.

First, let’s clear up some misconceptions that have been flying around the Internet for a few years.

I was convicted of a misdemeanor, not a felony. There is a BIG difference. You can look up the differences when you have some free time.
I was not convicted of tax evasion but willful failure to file. Tax evasion is when you file but leave off over 25% of the “income” that you earned.
Willful failure to file has a definition that includes (1) you didn’t file, (2) you knew you were supposed to file and (3) you were liable to file. Since I am not guilty of (2) and (3) then I am innocent even though the jury found me guilty. Just because people say a thing doesn’t mean it is the truth, as most of you already know and understand.
I didn’t “make thousands of dollars off the people” by having “tax protest” meetings. We had meetings to discuss my findings and the findings of others. I didn’t tell people to file or not to file. I told them to study for themselves. I think this is the main reason that I was not charged with any felonies. The money paid by the participants to come to meetings was used to pay for the hotel and the food. Many of you know that when I gave meetings I had at least coffee and cookies. Go to your local Marriott or Hilton and price out a meeting room with coffee and cookies, and you will understand why I was short of funds at the end of many of the meetings. Many volunteered to make up the difference at the end of the meetings and to them I am especially grateful. However, sometimes I had to come out of pocket and even borrow to pay for the meeting expenses.
I was not incorporated during the time I was speaking. I had already filed a final corporate tax return.

Now, let’s move on to a brief summary of what happened. There are some things I know now that I didn’t know in the past but I am not at liberty to discuss them right now, so read between the lines if you can.

On October 30, 2007, a jury found me guilty of four (4) counts of willful failure to file tax returns. On February 14, 2008 I was sentenced to four (4) years in federal prison even though the sentencing guidelines gave a sentence of 27-33 months. The prosecution asked for and was granted an “upward departure”.

I was immediately taken from my family and placed in the Atlanta City Detention Center for 2 months, then in the Robert A. Deyton Detention Center (a privately owned prison in Lovejoy, Georgia) for another month.

Prisioners standing in line

In May 2008 I was flown to Coleman Prison Camp in Coleman, Florida (an hour from Orlando and from Tampa) where I stayed until December 2009. I became very ill, with what we know now as hyperthyroidism, in July 2009. After a hospital stay in July my situation got critical and I reached out to my US congressman for help in late November 2009. It just so happened that I used to be his CPA. My husband sent the desperate e-mail to the congressman, but he also sent my e-mail to 20 of my dear supporters. From there, that e-mail went viral, and I started receiving cards and letters from all other the world.

In mid December, almost a month after the letter went out; I received a copy of the American Free Press during the evening mail call. That edition had a picture of me on the front cover with the caption, “Will The Feds Kill Sherry Jackson?” Less than an hour later I was packed up and shipped to a county jail, where I spent that night and a better part of the next day, without explanation. At 4pm I was picked up from the county jail by a man and woman in dress clothes and taken to the Tallahassee Federal Correctional Institution, a low security women’s prison according to the BOP. However, that classification is relative because the BOP has not designated a “supermax” facility for women. Women in the BOP system who are classified as “special management concerns” due to violence and/or escape attempts are confined in the administrative unit of Federal Medical Center, Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas. Most high security female prisoners reside in special restricted zones within general women’s prisons.

Tallahassee had murderers and all manner of women criminals. The worst of these were housed in the special housing unit (SHU) for fighting and other major infractions. The SHU was a prison within a prison, and that is where I was kept for five (5) months! I was in a cell alone with no real shoes, no real comb and lacking many of the personal items that I needed to live with dignity.

Behind prison bars

But by the grace of God I survived solitary confinement. I asked for and was given a Bible on my first night there. I read it from cover to cover in 26 days and then started to study by book, chapter and verse. After a month or so I was allowed to purchase a radio. I found three (3) good Christian stations and wrote out a daily schedule from 8:00am to 11:00pm of all of the ministries that were on these stations. Although I also listened to NPR and Fox Radio from time to time, I spent most of my listening time with Dr. David Jeremiah, Dr. Charles Stanley, Chip Ingram, Tony Evans, Ravi Zacharias, Chuck Swindoll, John McArthur and the late, great Dr. Adrian Rogers. It was as if I was in my own classroom with these instructors all to myself.

It was too cold in Tallahassee from December through March, so I didn’t go outside. After March I went out in slippers (they wouldn’t let you have real shoes in the SHU) and walked for an hour Sunday through Thursday. I also tried to stand in the sun sometimes, to get some vitamin D. The walking area was the size of a large family room, and I walked around and around singing praise songs.

There were three of these large recreation cells outside. I was always kept in one alone. The other two cells had women from Tallahassee and women from other prisons being held over for transport. Their language was so vile that I had to sing to myself to drown out the filth.

We were allowed to shower on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We were always shackled when we were let out of the cells, and then unshackled when we were placed in the shower cell or in the recreation cell outside.

After five months I was bussed to the Robert A. Deyton Detention facility in Lovejoy, Georgia for 2 months for a pending appeal, and then bussed back to Coleman Prison camp from August, 2010 till February 15, 2011.

From Coleman I went to a transitional facility in Atlanta. This “halfway house” housed around 125 men and 20 women. It was slightly better than prison, but it was another large challenge for me. I was put on home confinement, then taken off due to a faulty ankle monitor, then placed back on home confinement June 20, 2011. On August 8, 2011 I was released from the halfway house and began a year of supervised release with the US probation office. I will get more into detail about this journey at a later date. Suffice it to say that 36 months in prison will change anyone’s life.

My future plans are to:

Build a stronger relationship with the Lord and with my family.
Publish the book that I have already typed up and sent to copyright. This book is not my life story but it is the best book of the 6 that I wrote while in prison. I pray that this one becomes a movie because it (1) puts a face on prison and (2) shows how easily one can be imprisoned. More on this book later.
Finish typing and editing the other 5 books that I wrote while in prison.
Attend seminary and obtain a Masters of Arts in Christian Studies.
Start a much needed Women’s ministry (non 501(c)(3) ministry).
Speak on social issues of the day, such as prisons.
Grow my home based businesses. The links for my businesses are at the top right hand side of this page. I am passionate about them, and my goal is to have fun and enjoy what I do while making a few bucks at the same time.

This concludes my August newsletter. I welcome you on this new journey with me. Future topics will include:

Is the church under God or under Caesar?
What’s going on in the family?
What are you doing to buffer yourself from the next financial crisis?
Who can you trust?
Education or indoctrination?

Until then be strong and vigilant.

Sherry

A lesson I'm seeing here is don't try to provoke the matrix system. If it is true that she was a former IRS agent, didn't file taxes in years, and said so on film, then no one should be surprised that the system put her in prison.

Yeah, that does stand out. On the one hand, you have the technicalities of the law, and on the other hand you have the desires of the elites. We know which one trumps the other.

I hesitate to say it, but it stood out to me how her time in prison seems to have driven her much deeper into religion. Sure, they'll abuse to to no end, feed you rotting food, spray you with the fire hose, give you solitary confinement, but if you ask for a Bible you get it right away, and they don't mind if you listen to radio sermons as much as you want. Might that alone throw suspicion on Christianity in the absence of any other data? No doubt she needed something to hold on to during such a terrible time. Unfortunately the effect might seem to be that one indoctrinates oneself in a sense, unknowingly.
