Frence TV is Dumb?

French TV is dumb.

Au contraire mon frere. You have not experienced the potential joy of this technology until you have witnessed what the French have done to Wheel of Fortune.

When I arrived here I debated not having a TV at all, but decided that it would be helpful for learning la langue. To this end it is beneficial. My Brit expat acquaintances all have their Sky dishes, but I knew that English language TV, even if from the UK, was just more of what I had left behind.

My TV runs maybe 3 hours a week, tops. I watch it to see how the Franco-zionists are treating current news that I find on the internet. Since Sarko, it is the same as you get in the states or UK, except in French... with oodles and gobs of holocaust programming.

I wasn't kidding about French Wheel of Fortune. It is a hoot - almost an unintentional parody of the US version - and watching it with a French/English dictionary on my lap has been a great vocabulary builder and always good for a goof. But yeah, for the most part French TV, culturally adjusted for the locals, is as dumb as TV just about everywhere.

I wasn't kidding about French Wheel of Fortune. It is a hoot - almost an unintentional parody of the US version - and watching it with a French/English dictionary on my lap has been a great vocabulary builder and always good for a goof. No sure why you say "au contraire" which can be translate to "on the contrary". For my part I wanted to say "French TV is speechless about this subject".
Other point, if you add "mon frère" (my brother) to the end of your sentence, your speak sound like suburbs language Do not know if it's your goal...

Ah, well... to English speakers, "dumb" usually means "stupid." It's use to describe those without speech is declining.

My vocabulary is small and my grammar is deplorable, otherwise my French is impeccable "To the contrary" was my intent (with ironic mirth), but then, I did not know that you meant dumb, as in mute.

I am far out beyond the suburbs and intend to stay that way. Having left the rat race of southern California, I am very much into a "Green Acres" mindset these days (that's a TV show). If I wind up one day speaking French like a country bumpkin, this is OK with me, so long as I am acceptably comprehensible... which is the current short term goal. At least I got lucky on the mon frere. I was afraid I might be addressing a ma soeur.

Circumflexes, graves, accents and all of the rest of the necessary accouterments of proper written French will just have to wait until my yank keyboard gives up the ghost. The French keyboards are quite puzzling to me.

In the meantime, the professor got a raw deal, but would we expect anything different from the control system?

That's an old one. They were still using francs. They updated the program and they call it Wheel of Fortune now. A complete makeover... they even added a Jack Russell terrier and a rather spectacular "Vanna".

This show is an original French creation. Amazing that other countries didn't copy this masterpiece. ;)
