FSC (Forest Stewardship Commission) vs FSC (Fire-Safe Cigarrettes)

In the UK Rizla rolling papers carry an FSC logo with a tree image that means that the wood used to make the paper comes from renewable sources:

The FSC is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that their purchases are sourced from forests that are sustainably managed. More information is available at www.fsc.org.

By some rather bizarre coincidence FSC in the US relates to 'Fire-Safe Cigarrettes' aka carpet glue(as discussed on this forum Re: Tobacco project/research/video) and this article: _http://www.examiner.com/holistic-science-spirit-in-national/are-the-new-fsc-fire-safe-cigarettes-making-smokers-sicker-than-ever

Dentoted by the letters FSC on the barcode:

Will be interesting to see how this plays out when Fire-Safe Cigarettes are introduced in the UK (according to wiki) this year.
On November 30, 2007, 27 EU states approved a European Commission proposal which would require the tobacco industry to use fire-retardant paper in all cigarettes [23] The EU Commission has said that all cigarettes sold throughout the European Union will be self-extinguishing by 2011.[24]

In the UK a proposal to ban the "old style" cigarettes in order to implement a fire-safe alternative was dropped as it will be encompassed within the EU directive.[25]

In UK consumer minds FSC could well be associated with 'ohh, thats nice they save forests' not 'yuk they contain carpet glue'. Or a consumer backlash could lead to sales reduction and Rizla rethink of the logo it should be using.

I've seen FSC on things like boxes that I get stuff shipped in. So I think it also means Forest Stewardship Council in the US. Interesting, as I just went through some boxes yesterday and saw it.
