Funny dream after joining forum

I apologize if this dream is unhelpful. If anything it might lighten things up a bit. It did impact me in an unusual way but the same would not be true for other people.

I had what might have been the most colorful dream I remember, happened between reads of the Odyssey thread. Though for all I know I should credit neem, I don't really know. It played like a movie, with hilarious narration (most of which only funny while emotionally experiencing the dream). I might have been observing parts of myself, or some part wanting to return/to produce information, and in the end it seems like one 'character' oversteps ("moving too quickly" rings true). Usually I have dreams that are dull/walking around/scary/only make sense emotionally. This was different. The dream seemed to make for good fiction, and had more symbolism than I am used to. When I awoke I still found the dream entertaining, which is rare.

There was a scene of beautiful snowy mountains. There was a malicious group that wanted to show off a 'star wars' type weapon. There seemed to be some understanding, at least for some heroic woman and a team busy preparing things, that it would destroy more than just the area around the mountains. A different heroic type was observing the release of this weapon from a watch-post atop a mountain. He had time to go meet another guard on another mountain. He asked the other guard to accompany him in notifying their boss (let's call the boss the general), but the two disagreed on whether to reveal the threat. The heroic type ignored the other's odd demeanor and entered the mountain to meet the general, a person wearing a military uniform.

The inside complex was an impressive tan color. There was a comedic interlude wherein the heroic type was having trouble closing the door behind him, a large door apparently made of grey or tan bricks, the outside was pitch black. In short order he met with the general, who was of the same disposition as the other guard. The heroic type acted the same way as before, insisting that they reveal this threat, at which point the guard cut him off and yelled for a different character named "Trip!" to come down to him. Trip, a person with an afro hairstyle, is apparently responsible for overseeing the heroic character. Trip was observing from a floor above them, in a large dark room. The narrator said something like "But Trip was clumsy enough to go up instead of down."

Then Trip approached and walked up a white staircase which spiraled around a tree. He was soon floating in outer space, with a beautiful view of many stars around him, but the earth under him and the sun were not visible. Then Trip fell back to (the unperceived) earth.

Hello diligence,

From my point of view Trip is a sort of a Trickster. The character who is not perceived seriously yet has a key/ turning value to in a story. Trip, cripple, dance, dancing motion, dancing pace. Movement up and down. Ascending and descending. Movement along the axis. Maybe that tree is The Tree of Life. Hair could be representation of energy.

Hello diligence, you mentioned in your dream a staircase rotating around a tree. Curiously, only yesterday someone posted a photo of one such on my facebook, so we have serendipity or coincidence happening.
It was a photograph of a beautiful work of wood - art. Some people are just so talented.

I could only guess at what it would mean in your dream though.
Perhaps you are looking at the means to achieve another level of existence.
The first step is the hardest.

Thank you Zee Ley. As far as I got from my impressions of the dream you got Trip right, his appearance is one of a trickster, and I had a brief thought similar to 'how did he get in this position?' I didn't have much judgment for him or against him after that except 'is that me?' which is something I ask in dreams. I like the direction you go.

Hello MusicMan,
That does sound like it would make a lovely piece of art.

The interpretation of what it might mean in the dream is fitting, particularly considering what I spend my time reading. I appreciate your input.

I can explain more of what the image was in my dream: It was a spiral staircase but stationary. Only the bottom portion of the staircase was visible, really, under the branches. I think I tried to look at more of the staircase but then my perspective, viewing Trip, was quickly changed to outer space. Me, as the viewer of the dream, trying to look ahead might mean something in itself, heh. I try to influence my dreams, and whether I am successful or not, the dream seems to have a different idea of 'time' so that I can't quite have as full control as when I am awake.

What I saw of the staircase was that it had a handrail, it was all a shiny white. The tree and its leaves took up most of the scene, a very full tree, with a fat trunk, more or less ideal. Could be something I put in there to spice things up, too, as it is a common pretty image whose meaning people would generally agree on. I guess I can come at it from all sorts of directions  ;D
