Gathered a Meteorite...!

WOAH!

Three weeks ago, my step-dad witnessed something fall from the sky in Odessa, TX (USA)...

While waiting at a stop sign, he said to me that he watched something blazing from the sky to the ground and when it 'hit' the ground...about three houses over...it caught the grass on fire! So he ran out of his truck and put out the grass fire and then, later, was able to retrieve the rock that was in the middle of it all!

This was the 2nd time in his life that he was able to keep something that fell from the sky right in front of his eyes!

AGAIN I SAY....WOAH!!!

As a note, if the object had pathogens, an important part would have been disseminated in the atmosphere before it reaches the ground. It would be interresting to examine the meteorite (in case it is a comet chunk) though to see if there is something there.

And if you're short on cash, I hear meteorites contain high concentrations of valuable metals. ;)

Maybe you can take a picture of it? I never saw a meteorite and it can be interesting see one.
