Georgian vs Mayan Calendar & 2012

Forgive me if this topic can be found elsewhere. A search of 2012 had too many hits to read in this lifetime and searching for Georgian didn't help either.

I'm looking for some clarification on the 2012 date. I was listening to a radio show a while back and they were talking about the Mayan calendar and the differences in our calendar and how the 2012 date is off compared to our calendar. They basically said, according to the Mayan calendar 2012 will actually arrive in 2018 by our calendar? My understanding is, Christ was born 6 the sixth year after the Mayan calendar began and the Georgian calender began with a "1 one" and not a "0 zero". So explains why our dates may be confused.

Mayan Year Georgian Year
0000 0005BC
0001 0004BC
0002 0003BC
0003 0002BC
0004 0001BC
0005 0001AD
0006 0002AD
0007 0003AD

Is this correct?

Thank you and blessings to all.

Thank you Vulcan!

It seems, my simple question isn't so simple after all. The thread is several years old but the answers that the link provided is pretty in depth.
