The Living Force
In makeshift labs and impossible conditions, which are located mainly in China and Eastern Europe, criminals counterfeit products world-renowned brands, a false makeup is full of lead, human urine, faeces and arsenic ...

Yes makeup should be used with care. The expensive brands as well, as they are often animal tested, and not always safe anyways (I'm allergic to Chanel lipstick)

They say your skin is an organ. They say it tends to absorb whatever you apply to it. Watch what you apply to your skin is the message I think.

I think Human beings are NOT supposed to use any chemicals (cosmetics) on their skin at all, I believe with a good diet and proper care your body will look its best.... my two cents :cool2:

I agree completely, but advertising in newspapers and on television shows that make up the covering up, look younger (if you are older), or look older (if you are younger), today, if you look closely, you can not assess, whether the girls are minors

Apparently there ARE ways to make home-made, chemical-free makeup. In fact, I just looked at some recipes, and they seem fairly simple, and have ingredients that are pretty harmless, possibly even beneficial for the skin (e.g. coconut oil, aloe vera...)

Never tried it myself, but maybe it's worth it for those who don't like not wearing makeup.

Sometimes makeup is more to fit in with what is "normal" in society, than to try to look beautiful. In some situations people might think it a statement for a woman not to wear makeup, so if one does not wish to make a statement or draw attention from being different looking, it can be necessary, as weird as it sounds.

I agree, the flesh is the biggest mouth in your body, my philosophy is: if you can eat it you can put it on. If not, garbage.

When you read Victorian novels, they had tricks to put color on the face from flowers and fruits. I think Victorian women were in more good health than us. The good air also gives a good make up. Some Indian products I think they are better, more natural. But to buy something from the big, monstrous American corporations is a bad idea, they don't care absolutely for women at all. In fact they hate women.

One book that changed my vue about all these products was "The Myth of Beauty" by Naomi Wolf. Excellent.

I like your comments, Gaspar. You are so right.

Attempts to child dressed in a "children's" clothes, levels are impossible because the market there is no such clothing. The fashion industry as it seeks to girls and young women make objects. Clothing that is available to them is too narrow, with too deep neckline, short, challenging and "sexy". Traders are targeted at young girls feel that their role models they see in Vikan and popular young stars. The exception was not the toy industry, which has flooded the market with sexualized dolls accented attributes.
All the more widespread and offer cosmetics for children and girls are intended shades, nail polish, lip gloss, perfumes ... In the higher grades it is normal for girls to color your hair and to go out wearing high heels.
The media have in recent times become easily available and daily ubiquitous, it is enough to have with you mobile access to the Internet and all the information you need at your fingertips. Thus a school girl with a mobile phone in your pocket actually can access any type of content - as easy to come up with games and Playboy.
Women are generally says that they have to be sexy, desirable, challenging and incredibly nice to have a successful and fulfilling life. As a result of that we can see girls without any criticism and questioning accept imposed stereotypes and emphasize their sexuality to attract male attention.

I agree Casper, though I think young women/teenagers have a right to experiment with "womenness" in the form of makeup or sexy clothes, it stops being a right, when it becomes a demand. And there is a sickening focus on pornography in our society, that is trying to make children look like porn stars.
BTW did you see the doll makeunder? http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,37089.msg547340.html#msg547340

A lovely quote from Erin McKean to women:

“You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother, you don’t owe it to your children, you don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked ‘female’.”

The article in question warns strongly against purchasing cosmetics online unless from a trusted source and that may not be amazon!
...the trend for fake cosmetics is “frightening.”

Youngman says it’s “incredibly hard” to distinguish fake products from real products as the minor signs that indicate cosmetics are fake are “barely noticeable.”

Online retailers such as Amazon and eBay needs to “take a more proactive and tougher stance on these fake cosmetics,” she added.

The skin is very permeable so you owe it to yourselves to treat it right.
Dr Hulda Clark in her book "The Cure for all Diseases" has various recipes for beauty and hygeine products which you can make yourselves, and which are innocuous.

Note: I have no interest in promoting this except for information purposes.

Definitely should be very careful with placing chemicals on your skin! We have to remember that your body has little on no defence against this, it cannot digest it and merely excrete the waste. If I remember correctly, the absorbability of toxins increases by 10 TIMES when something is rubbed into the skin!

I've tried these methods a few times, and they all work just as well. But I gave up eventually as it just wasn't worth the effort, unless you're going to an event or an interview. Even the mascara made from aloe vera, coconut oil, bees wax and activated charcoal stings the eyes!

I was wondering what you guys use for shampoo? I've been using baking soda & ACV or cacao powder etc for over a year, and the hair does not seem to clean itself!
