gobi desert on googlemaps- whats goin on?

ran across a news article on some odd happenings in the gobi desert. fox news&UKtelegraph report that some very strange and unusual pattern and structure sets have been seen on google along the mongolia border of china. according to the article, theorists say one of the patterns even resembles the wash. DC street grid. another is composed of a spiral pattern with what seems to be planes and/or military vehicles around it. it is quite bizarre and definatly leaves you wondering-what's happening!? unfortunatly i cant link to article through phone or post images, but article can easily found on google by searching gobi+google maps+china. anyone have any theories on this ?

I have no idea what they are. Some things seem to be reflective and/or a strange color.

After looking a bit more, the one that is the large teal squares looks like water/other liquid and appears to have some kind of tubes and facilities nearby, with some storage boxes or something. ...Maybe they're growing Spirulina?
