Gordon Brown - We are about to take the war against terror to a new level

The Force is Strong With This One
The sections I have put in bold, consecutively, maybe the real dialog from Gordon...

"We are about to take the war against terror to a new level."

"We should be under no illusion, however, that the biggest security threat to our country and other countries is the murderous agents of hate that work under the banner of al-Qaida."

"relentless pursuit of terrorists and disruption of their plots, builds up our defences against attacks and our resilience to deal with them, and addresses the longer term causes - understanding what leads people to become radicalised (ponerized)"

"we are setting out a new approach to the risk that terrorists will abuse modern technology to mount chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attacks."

"We will always make the necessary changes, whether through greater investment, changes to our laws or reforms to the way we do things, to ensure that Britain is protected."

"and strengthened in our ability to ensure all peace-loving people of this country can live normally, with confidence and free from fear."

What a load of bullocks! (Loved learning that British saying from the film "V"!)

we are setting out a new approach to the risk that terrorists will abuse modern technology to mount chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attacks."

Sounds like Gordon is preparing the masses for more false flags. As if a bunch of guys in caves have easy access to such technological evils. (Well, Al Qaeda is a CIA construct, so, maybe.) Of course, there's at least three governments that are known to meddle in world affairs that have such capabilities...and have a historical track record of using such means against other nations...and their own citizens.

"and strengthened in our ability to ensure all peace-loving people of this country can live normally, with confidence and free from fear."

Yeah, right...free from fear under the watchful eyes of the strengthened PTB snitches, police forces, and 24/7 Orwellian technology. The PTB must be scared of something to go to these lengths to control the "useless eaters". Reminds me of the line Princess Leia said to the Death Star Governor in the 1977 "Star Wars" movie: "The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers."

Sheesh...barf bag propaganda at its worst.

And here is the latest campaign.

Don't rely on others. If you supect it report it.

Londoners are being asked to trust their instincts and report suspicious behaviour to help combat terrorist activity.

Just one piece of information could be vital in helping disrupt terrorist planning and, in turn, save lives.

Might be part of this new level.

I heard the same things as those printed adverts on a radio advert monday morning (it has a tv version too, that I've yet to be able to track down).
My jaw nearly hit the flaw when I heard it and recalled previouse times in history when people had been asked to spy on there neighbours.
I live miles from london, so I'm wondering if its a national campaign?

I notice the emotive use of young (single?) mothers/women with very young children and the old. People who are generally made to feel vunerable in in society by the media. Under the 'safe' watchful eye of cctv. And the Red for danger to push the old 'terror' button and convey 'you are not safe, even when everything looks normal!'

It seems to be part of the ongoing national campaign. they just stepped it up another notch.

yup, that's pretty much the standard mode of operation - play on our emotions, our guilt, fear, empathy for others. quite the giveaway once you recognise the tactics, eh?

or, as the PM says in V for Vendetta, and as quoted in the latest Connect The Dots article:

Adam Sutler said:
Mr. Dascombe, what we need right now is a clear message to the people of this country. This message must be read in every Newspaper, heard on every Radio, seen on every Television. This message must resound throughout the ENTIRE interlink!!! I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion.

I want every man woman and child to understand how close we are to chaos! I want EVERYONE to remember why they need us!

SOTT Editors gave a link to the original article's comments section. Most of the commenters displayed anger and disbelief to the blatant propaganda that Gordon and his psychopathic cronies espose: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/mar/22/gordon-brown-terrorism?showallcomments=true&commentpage=10&commentposted=1

Surprising and encouraging. Looks like more than a few humans are not buying the PTB lines...err...lies.

I agree with the comment about the comments, usually you see more people in disagreement on articles like that, but i think even the original believers on the "war on terror" are more worried about feeding their families than the slight chance of a terror attack.

I wonder if there are similar reactions in the US to this type of propaganda yet?

Looking at this recent Washington Post article: 'Global War On Terror' Is Given New Name and the comments section View All Comments », there are similarities and some very critical responses but there seems to be far more 'right wing' commenter's who completely believe the threat and get caught up in the liberal/republican narrow mindedness.

Contingency
Noun

1. (uncountable) The quality of being contingent; unpredictability.
2. (countable) A possibility; something which may or may not happen.
3. (countable) An amount of money which a party to a contract has to pay to the other party (usually the supplier of a major project to the client) if he or she does not fulfil the contract according to the specification.
So, the "War on Terror" is out, "Overseas Contingency Operations" is in?

The Washington Post said:
Last month, the International Commission of Jurists urged the Obama administration to drop the phrase "war on terror"...

... John A. Nagl, the former Army officer who helped write the military's latest counterinsurgency field manual, said the phrase "was enormously unfortunate because I think it pulled together disparate organizations and insurgencies."Our strategy should be to divide and conquer rather than make of enemies more than they are," said Nagl, now president of the Center for a New American Security, a defense policy think tank in Washington.

"We are facing a number of different insurgencies around the globe -- some have local causes, some of them are transnational. Viewing them all through one lens distorts the picture and magnifies the enemy."
I think that is pretty interesting in the light of Obama's "Hope". During Bush years Americans ducked and covered in the fear of crazy Jihadists, while Obama brings with him a "Hope", a "Change". Maybe it means to signal to the zombified authoritarian population that the "War" is now over, and all the Americans now have to deal with are merely "operations overseas" with "contingencies". I guess that means to say: "Just hold on tight, we're going to have some little more collateral damage but it's over soon."

Just a thought.

I may be missing something here, but what I am seeing is just a "change in commercials." Bush was always presented as a 'In your face' kind of president, as he needed to be presented as commanding and in charge. Obama, is being presented in a much different light, as someone who 'cares' about the masses, and all the people in the world, and wants to work towards peace.

It is all based on confusing the people, yet again, and keeping them forever asleep!! I just don't see any real changes happening, and I don't expect to see anything in the coming months.

FWIW,
