This advertisement appears to all travellers entering Las Vegas airport. Thought I'd share it as a Sign of the Times!

Yep, and there's nothing quite like the symbol of an attractive young female to bring out the 'Hero I' in an insecure person, eh?

Hi samy,

Try the raw url for the image below and see if you can see it.

Okay not sure what you are seeing at your end but try clearing your browser cache and see it you can see the image. Hope that helps. :)

Hi Vulcan59, I even reset my browser to default (lost all cookies) still the same, except now I can watch youtube videos again after always receiving that annoying message about Javascript turned off :)

Las Vegas is full of ways to spend money on fast thrills. Some like to spend their money at the tables, some like to give their money to pretty women. And it is possible that there are other things going on that I have no idea about...

And some people seem to enjoy wasting lots of ammunition very quickly, making a lot of noise. And accomplishing nothing, other than emptying their wallets.

But Las Vegas is about entertainment. Paying money for a memory. Who is to say that wasting ammo is worse than gambling or renting whores? Or whatever it is that people spend their money on in Vegas.

Okay samy, you should see it now. I remove the height and width tags in the image that Perceval posted. My understanding is that some browsers do not support the BBC tags in images. Is it better now?

This is Perseval's entire post that I see:

Anyway don't bother Vulcan59, I guess I need to update my system or something, windows xp is getting old. BTW, when Buddy said there was an attractive young female in the ad I was attracted

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 and it's a blast. I feel so stupid now that I can see my posts here and not knowing I was re-posting Perceval's image as well. Couldn't see the image on my previous Windows xp system, so I decided to re-post Perceval's entire post to prove there's no image :headbash:, no wonder Vulcan59 was confused (sorry about that). And just to clarify, before I get bashed, I did not upgrade my system just to see a young attractive female :)

Ok so now I can comment about the image. It's a normal ad for a product, many ads have young attractive females embracing the product, but the place of this ad is not normal. A gun ad in a US airport gives it a strong subliminal message. Business-wise, the location of this gun ad is perfect because who cannot think about 911 when their in an airport? Just the thought of 911 will cause the urge to carry a firearm. It's like a subtle reminder (if only the passengers of the hijacked planes had guns). Another aspect is the right to carry a gun law in the US; again the airport is a perfect location for such an ad because for the American citizen it's a subtle reminder that the US is one of the few countries in the world that allows guns, and one should make use of this "freedom" while they can. Normally ads are located to target certain consumers, but what I'm not certain about is the intention of this specific ad; is it just business or otherwise?

seems like an attempt to associate so-called (highly contrived) 'sexiness' with a murder weapon. just great.
