Nice, anything with G is cool. :P I think about objective vs. subjective art sometimes. Like I know there is the ponerized stuff that is just filth and not art. And I think the objective art would communicate something like a universal truth. And then there's the 1st Initiation where, "...your art (is a lie)".

It reminds me of a quote from the sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan: "My friends put me to sleep, but my enemies force me awake."

Thanks, everyone. The message is the Message.

Please feel free to delete this picture as well as a previous thread in Creative Works entitled "Adding an example of my artwork". Showing images is probably distracting and both instances would be better gone. It would help me not focus on pictures when I need to focus on The Work.
Thanks. :) :) :)

Hi NewOrleans,

It is your second request to delete your pictures.

May I ask why you are so concerned about that ?

Don't you think that in the life of every days, someone can be distracted by a lot of things and keeping the focus on the Work is a part of the Work.

Hello Gandalf,
It's not a major but a minor concern. If it's too much trouble, I'm fine. My choice is that I should be reading and learning not focusing on posting images. But I see your point.

Have you had a look at others' posting in Creative Acts, as well as the "Tickle Me" section of the forum? As you can see, people do all manner of things besides solely focusing on Work, or some idealized, super-serious concept of Work. And that's OK! Creative expression can be of help, both for oneself and also for others - and the same goes for sometimes having a bit of fun. It would be a problem if it was the only thing done, or the main focus, but it isn't.

So, your concern here looks like some kind of automatic reaction - not based, at least, in an understanding that you've conveyed thus far. Looking at this reaction, and dealing with the things inside that brought it about, could well be good Work.

OSIT.

Psalehesost, your insight is probably more 'spot on" than I realized at first. It's OK to look at what others have posted and it's all good. Relaxed and fun creative expression.

For myself, Art is expression of oneself extended outward. My inward reaction was one of pulling back due to what I can only describe as shrinking confidence lately. In the past I've always used my talent and wits to accomplish what I needed. But lately it's fallen short. It's like a ticking clock running out of time. It would be very boring to talk about my anxieties and difficulties with taxes and the IRS as part of The Work, but it is, I guess.

I'll think about that one.

I told you that you have some kind of problem with self confidence and misunderstanding that there is no problem showing your great talents.

Cool picture, NewOrleans! :)

I'm not sure why you would want it removed. We're generally not in the habit of deleting threads or posts unless it violates forum guidelines in a big way - which this doesn't.

Just an observation but maybe what you should be is not what you are. In short, why give yourself gruff for having shared with the forum? You enjoyed it when you drew it, yes? You enjoyed posting it, or you posted it without thought? For here it seems that, later, you now have guilt or remorse over having posted it and want the moderators to delete the picture for you.

Except you dont really want them to delete it, you want to ask them politely that if it seems appropriate to them that would they please mind deleting it, unless it is too much trouble, then dont worry about.!?

 :scared:

The Work. What is the Work and is it not relative to Self and circumstance, though it may share similar features and core principles in general, it seems like maybe confidence to be, the strength to accept yourself and your talents for drawing and the desire to share with the network should be, if there is any "should be's" appreciated and accepted and acknowledged to self, from self. It is not whether the network approves, but do you approve yourself, in your own eyes.

Nice to meet you NewOrleans. I've been to the city many times, especially years ago when traveling as a consultant.

Thank-you for sharing the image of G - it's quite a creative act. (you should see my drawings, stick figures.)
