Hi fellow forum members,

Last night as I got done with the POTS, I was intending to the universe that I have a dream about what I really needed to focus on in my life right now, in the present. Well I had a pretty intense dream about being in a car accident. When I woke up I reflected on it and thought maybe there was something I needed to focus on from my past accident I had about two months ago. Well today I was driving my mother to the doctors office to pay her bill off, and I was thinking about how religion is obsessed with rituals(I distracted myself and didn't pay attention to the light) (my mom was talking about religion) and I almost ran a red light! :scared: . Luckily my mom yelled out its a " Red Light!!!", I slammed the breaks and averted hitting the car that was going through the intersection, if she wasn't there with me I wouldn't have stopped. I'm pretty paranoid of touching the car at the moment. Before my last accident, I was a pretty focused driver, never got a ticket or did any major mistakes while driving. So maybe me being distracted so easily or not paying attention is due to attacks or maybe just me. I'm going to put a sticker on my key chain and write on it "pay attention" and always do some remembering when sitting in my car about paying attention while driving, also take some other precautions.

P.S I guess the universe let me know what I really needed to focus on in my life, pay attention!!!.

I hardly believe that dreams are of what you are thinking the whole day, because you had an actual accident or else. The motivation of having a bad dream, lies on your instinct, thoughts and experiencing. No matter what, you dream in which you are certainly in a car accident may be a sign of not driving a car for it is bad luck.

Hi jenierga,

Welcome to the forum. :) We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, and how they found their way here. Have a read through that section to get an idea of how others have done it. Thanks.

You've probably thought of this already but how about doing some pipe breathing just before you go to your car? This will help you deal with the anxiety of the situation as well as put you in the perfect attentive state for the task at hand. I ride a motorcycle and I am constantly baffled about the ability of car drivers to disassociate during such a dangerous activity, it's like they have no real connection with the situation around them and how vulnerable they are (I'm not saying this applies to you, just that it is a major source of concern for me). Sometimes I do pipe breathing when I'm out on the road and find it focuses me without being distracting in itself. FWIW.

Hi jenierga,

Yes I also believe that dreams are much more then the sum of what you think all day.

Hi Ben,

Yes that's a great way to deal with anxiety, I did start doing pipe breathing before I started to drive, but haven't kept up with it. I drive much more focused now, then before, I guess I just needed a good reminder to do so. Yes I agree that many drives are over stressed and they do not fully pay attention when they are driving, I guess the best thing for us to do is, be fully aware so we can spot danger and avoid the best we can.
