CAMBRIDGE - Harvard College has dismissed an undergraduate student who allegedly hacked into online accounts of his instructors and gained unauthorized access to the Registrar’s Office’s grading portal.
The Harvard Crimson reported Friday that the Faculty Council voted on May 5 to dismiss the student who allegedly designed a web site to steal user IDs and personal identification numbers of his instructors to gain access to the grading portal.
Harvard spokesman Jeff Neal declined to name the student or provide additional information, including whether the dismissed student changed his grades.
