Hereafter

I watched this movie and it was good, it's about life after death, there are 3 main characters that have their experiences, one has death experience but lived, other is a psychic(Matt Damon) who got this "gift" after operation, and third is little boy whose brother died. I don't want to spoil it anymore but it's one of rare movies that deals with more serious topics, watch it yourself, here's a trailer:

I watched this movie last night and really enjoyed it. (WAY better than Adjustment Bureau :P) The movie was very deep which is kind of rare for movies lately. It was directed by Clint Eastwood, and produced by Spielberg. I was pretty hooked from the very beginning, and shed tears near the end. The movie was basically about the subject of life after death as danny pointed out, so for most people here, who are familiar with the topic it may not be nothing new. But for most regular folks who only have religious context of life after death to think about, it's a movie that takes a further look at the topic.

SPOILER

The beginning was actually a bit of a shocker for me because it starts with a Tsunami. I didn't know this when I started watching it, so I thought it was kind of an interesting synchronicity.

I also found one part interesting.. where the little boy is looking for different ways to talk to his dead brother and learns about the psychomantium, but the movie points to it as being mumbo jumbo. Where in reality the psychomantiums use, if used correctly can actually be used to contact the 'beyond', from my understanding of it from Laura's writings.

All in all though, it was a pretty good movie and I give it my personal thumbs up.

Watched this yesterday. I enjoyed it alot.

** Spoilers**

I was wondering what anyone thought to the bit at the end? When he shook the ladies hand and had no visions? What did that mean?

Well in the movie, he always thought his gift was a curse and whenever he touched someone, he usually saw their experince with death, or someone they were thinking about who had died.

So in the end, he had a vision of kissing her, and it was as if he was seeing a potential future, and when he touched her hand, he no longer saw death. He saw a new life and a new beginning. Someone he could be himself with. So I took it as him accepting his gift as what it was and no longer a curse.
