Indeed. It's disgusting and offensive. Why did you post it here?

I think something is definitely happening to the people... today i was disgusted reading updates on the face book from several people I regarded as fairly sane - reports about their bowel movements and their gasses - OMG - I said unsubscribedly, then I come here to my safe heaven and I find this :(

Well, as man #3, (most of us here I think), we tend to be dis-attached to what's going on with our bodies. Therefore it is possible that the "hind lick" maneuver may actually be effective, of course, I'm not recommending that you try this at home :). Also, the way the Texan does what he does in an STO manner, seemingly without taking pleasure in the action except to help someone... in opposition to the usual motive that someone would do such a thing is the crux of what make the joke funny, or so it seems to me.

Hey, and it's just a joke. Sorry if I offended anyone, we are all adults here no?

If this is really that offensive then let the moderators just delete and please accept my apology.

It is not a matter of being adults, but just to be polite and respectful with others.
Some cultural memes make it sound inoffensive sometimes but one has to be careful of the underlying psychology behind the jokes. :)

Ok, I will practice more external consideration in the future. Maybe I should ask myself why I think "crude" jokes are funny. Btw., an intelligent, thoughtful, and long time friend of mine - an 84 year old lady, emailed me the joke, and I did think it was funny.

Learning is fun.

Come on Mark, this doesn't make any sense. I think you are trying to intellectualize a joke that has no grain of intellect.

The name of this "maneuver" sounds like something out of the animal behavior book, if you strive to remain animal man fine by me.

What is the usual motive to do such a thing - to a perfect stranger non the less -utter insanity perhaps?

exactly....nobody is being prudish some things are just crass and inappropriate... I am sure you didn't mean to offend anyone but the fact that 84 year old lady send it makes it even worse.

I think that Mark understood the idea that it wasn't the best joke for mixed company. I really don't think belaboring the issue is necessary.

well, calling it crass and inappropriate IS being prudish, but as Anart says, Mark seems to have grasped the idea. Mark, just think about whether or not you would walk into a room full of people, most of whom you do not know and who do not know you, and tell this joke out loud.
