The Force is Strong With This One
Standing at my sink doing dishes, I was thinking about the fact that I have not gotten my wood stove yet, which of course made me wonder how did the neanderthals first get/find/use fire? I did a search but came up empty. :knitting:

Well, you could search for the myth of Prometheus, but bear in mind that the divine origin of the fire may be a representation of some kind of natural force. Lightning, meterorite strike for example. Maybe early humans harnessed a naturally occurring fire and learned the principles of how it spreads, how it starts etc. before attempting to create it for themselves. It's an interesting question, though.

Probably fire was first sourced from naturally occurring fires, e.g. bush fires caused by a lightning strike, or perhaps from volcanic activity. If you didn't know how to make fire yourself, you would need to keep the fire or embers going and not let them go out.

The knowledge of how to make fire, e.g. by rubbing sticks together or striking flints or iron pyrite rocks, may have been difficult to come by at first, but once acquired could then been culturally transmitted across the generations.

I would assume that if the earth was already in an STS density at this time, it would greatly benefit the 4th D STS control system to 'infuse' certain skills into the indigenous population, in order to propagate its existence. Whether this would mean showing them physically, or just inserting the knowledge into the group consciousness somehow I've no idea. Or maybe they did just get lucky with a lightening strike one day lol.

In terms of the original Homo Sapiens population which first entered the 3rd D STS environment I would be very surprised if the basic 'Earth 101' skills weren't given on entry, as a primer to expanding and becoming a fruitful crop in which to harvest off at the 4th D level. You wouldn't plant essential crops and then neglect to feed them now would you? They die off quicker than they could multiply.

Think of all the other things that we now know, but must of been amazing revelations once first 'discovered/observed' - metal smelting; alcohol fermentation etc.

Food for thought.

Yeah that is in a way how I see it too. In the end, an a bit more inlligent neanderthal or human could have more potential to be satisfying food.
