Greetings, dear all.
I have a story to share with you
Here I am in on of my gigs, away from home( the place where wife and cats live who agree we are good with eachother). We arrive, not to mention the driver who kept on looking backwards at us instead of looking at the road, we arrived, safe and sound :D.
At the venue there is a young sound man (in his mid thirties) who has no idea what the sound of the sixties was ever like. so- I am known as the patient one in the group( they call themselves a band, don't mind them its just still groovy). So I get to the board and ask him:
Whats the prob- um, issue?
He slides his glasses down at me and says:
I got noise- this is totally unacceptable I am not using this amp, tell him to get another one.

I look at the board and verify, indeed there is noise on channel 4, our solo guitar who happens to use a tube amp-Fender manufactured back in the 60ies.

Let me tell you about that soloist- or better not-
Let me tell you about the audience listening to the soloist play- total involvement, really happy!
Good for business(bottom line) lets not kid eachother, the bottom line always talks sense, doesn't it? I don't mean money either.

The kid on the sound board is insisting there is noise he does not want, cause it will mess his automation of the digital EQ or something like that.
I say:
OK, I understand. Can you isolate the automation on this channel and do it manually?
He has the gull to respond.
Yes I can, but its not worth it, all channels should be automated so I can-
That was the last I heard, since I turned around and asked for the manager.
That very amazing sound man, who knew quite a lot was dismissed for that night, and I think that he will have a hard time wanting to try getting jobs with old f- like us anymore.
Too much noise and to little automation.
Love you
I just had to share that with you
