I really worry about my mother

If somebody can help me please don't hesitate to answer because I have to go to france tomorrow and I have no Internet there.

There are troubles with my mother she is 79 years old and she suffered from terrible spasms in the colon since 20 days on the left side . She is eating normal .She has seen her doctor on friday 25th february

The doctor diagnose was a colon infection , he gave her antibiotics, anti-spasms med and charcoal and she must had a blood test immediately.

after almost a week she is always in pain, in her blood test she had 11000 witte blood cells , the doctor found it was really to much, he wants to see her tuesday 8th march .

She worries badly because she is thinking she has cancer . I don't know what I must think about this situation I know she won't accept vitamines or anything else .

if somebody can help me i would appreciate it thank you

I'm sorry you're going through this, fille des boise. I, unfortunately, don't have any advice without knowing more details about her condition. Perhaps others might be of more help. Hopefully the doctor will know more soon.

Very similar sounding to what Atriedes went through over Christmas. It ended up being infection of the colon and a couple weeks on antibiotics in the hospital followed by an almost all meat diet has straightened him right out. It's discussed in the later pages of the Dec 12, 2010 Cs session.

thank you Laura I have reread it this morning I must say my mother is eating normally she has no diarrhoea but the doctor was alarmed with her witte blood cells I have read on internet that it is not good

to have a colonoscopy when the colon infection is acute so I think that the doctor will wait for it . what do you think

Colon infections rise up the white blood cells, usually the antibiotics should take care of that. But she might need IV antibiotics (in a hospital setting). She needs to have a non residual diet (no vegetables nor fruits).

thank you Psyche I will try that she doesn't eat too much vegie and fruits but i know her, vegie and fruits are like a religion . She has always thought she must avoid too much meat .It will be very difficult

thank you psyche and Laura for your help It is really appreciated

Perhaps the doctor will help with that. In France the non residual diet for colon infections is pretty specific. In fact, the only medical info I found at the beginning was actually in French. So, she avoided meats and ate veggies and fruits and she ended up with a colon infection...
