I saw bits of this movie before and came across a full documentary today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAuNdpxnm7k or you can see it on RT.com site: https://rtd.rt.com/films/ice-maiden-film/ It was filmed in 2014 and has English voice over.
The main character is Galina Kuyterova. Although, the story is told about her, it is about the psychotherapy method by Dr.Makarov, that she embraced so devotedly. In the movie Dr.Makarov is on a sideline. Probably, RT did not want to look like a promoter of his "Club of Longlivers" where Galina is a chair (or president).
The youtube video has a lot of comments - some funny, some derogatory and some serious. Especially funny were those where people picked up on comments of the other women in the movie... Someone mentioned Wim Hoff https://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,42943.msg681557.html#msg681557
What picked my attention is the link that Dr.Makarov established between a cold and a longevity.
There is another video in English on RT about the people that survived an extreme cold without proper gear by using their will
https://www.rt.com/shows/documentary/surviving-the-cold-898/ That movie includes a few minutes showing Porfiry Ivanov and his teaching. Porfiry was a cold water "guru" who lived through enormous hardships and lived until very old age... There is a group of people that swims in a cold water every winter in improvised ballet clothes for over 16 years (at 10:00 in the movie) and one of them said "you can't get used to cold. You can tolerate or struggle with it..."

There were many other threads on cold water showers on this board already. I wanted to explore the "longevity" angle. Is that a better overall health that leads to longer lives? Or the mental preparedness/state to tolerate the extreme cold temperatures? Or else?

Q: (L) Is that what's getting a little play in the swelling in my leg?
A: Yes. But you stopped it "cold".
Q: (L) Ha ha ha! [laughter because Laura was induced to start a program of saunas followed by ice-cold hip baths]
and swimming in cold water https://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,43069.msg685301.html#msg685301
(L) Speaking of swimming in cold water, I read an article the other day that talks about how being in a very cold atmosphere - and I'm assuming that could include being in very cold water - can cause your blood to get thick and sticky and cause you to have blood clots. I don't want to have thick sticky blood. {laughter} Is there a danger of me getting blood clots from going swimming in very cold water?
A: Not much.
Q: (L) Traitors! Traitors!! {laughter}
(Pierre) You can ask about pneumonia. I'm sure they're going to say yes.
(Joe) Can you get pneumonia from cold water?
A: No
Q: (Andromeda) Should I be going in the cold water even though I have a cold?
A: No
Q: (Andromeda) Thank you! {laughter}
(Pierre) Now everybody's gonna have a cold! "I want to go so much, but..." {laughter}
(Joe) I read that going in the cold water actually strengthens and vivifies your whole vascular system.
A: Yes

(Ark) I have a quick question. Would taking cold showers in the morning be beneficial for my sneezing?
A: Why not a dip in the pool?
