Which is completely fascinating, absorbing, interesting...and I don't want it to end!!! I love this book. I think when I've finished the last page I will simply start all over and read it again. Right now I'm on the Chapter 'Time'. :)

I have also just finished reading The Redemption of Althalus by David and Leigh Eddings. Very interesting book...I was wondering if anyone here has read any of the Eddingses books, especially The Redemption of Althalus? I noticed that the Eddingses used a particular word that Laura also revealed in her book regarding a deity or entity in the Althalus book: 'Daeva', which is a large part of the plot in the Eddingses book.

The same thing happened to me with " Secret History " I am reading it for the third time. It really gets you hooked up.

After reading the Horns of Moses I couldn't get enough . . . I'm a Laura addict !!! Just received my copy of the Book and intent on devouring it during the X'mas Holidays ! ! !

It took me a very long time to read Secret History. I think it is one of those books that requires a second read! For sure!

Indeed, Secret History is the kind of book to read more than once. There's just so much material to digest. I've read it straight through once, which took me a whole summer of ardent reading, although I was already familiar with many of the topics. Never had I encountered such a synthesis of so many topics I was interested in though. I've gone back to it from time to time, but I'm definitely due for a re-read soon.

I have read The Belgariad and the Malloeran, The Elenium and The Tamuli, written by the Eddings, which I loved because of the ambiance which is very "gray", between dark and light. The characters are well balanced and the social stories well led. We retrieve much influences from the real world, certainly view by an american, such as Hippies, Indian, and french musketeers. This not worth the writtings of great classic but it's very interesting for the landscape and basic storytelling.

The end is kind of too much grandiose, with Mans acceding the ultimate power of God. It's good for teenagers and for resting the mind.

I have not read The Redemption of Athalus but it seemed not be the same as the History of the world. Maybe on certain symbolic side but it is not to mix !

Laura absolutely Rocks ! ! ! On Page 298 and climbing the Roller Coaster . . .

Prior to discovering Laura I was an Occult aficionado and had busted hard earned money on whatever Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh would write, especially after The Holy Blood And The Holy Grail . . . I've thrown the entire set out of the window and feel lighter . . .
