Yesterday for no reason I started to think about a strange incident from 2006.
The incident: I was driving during a clear night, and entered a freeway on ramp which curved 270 degrees. As I was finishing the curve and starting to go straight, I saw a dark object appear to fall quickly from the sky to the freeway and then appear to quickly bounce up from the freeway. It was coming from the general direction of the opposite side of the freeway diagonally towards me on my side of the freeway. The object appeared to bounce quite high, I estimate greater than the height of street lights or telephone poles, and its trajectory was like a high arch. Then, the object was on its way down again and seemed like it was on a collision course with my car. This was all happening very quickly, and I steered a bit to the left and hoped it would bounce to the right of the car. It appeared to avoid hitting my car and I did not see where it went behind me. From the time I saw it to when it seemed to pass by me, I didn't feel like much time passed, maybe one second or two seconds of time. I was still on the straight section of the on ramp and about to merge with the freeway.
At the time it happened, my reaction was surprise, fear, and then relief that it didn't hit my car. The narrative that automatically came to my mind was that the object was a bouncing tire. I told my spouse about the incident soon after, maybe the next day.
Thinking about it now, my memory of the incident is not very good. I don't remember much about what the object looked like. It seemed like the object was falling and bouncing much quicker and higher than how an ordinary object would. Yesterday I started thinking that the narrative that it was a tire is rather ridiculous. I don't think a runaway tire would go so fast and so high. It might have been a window faller or 4D bleedthrough. Maybe the high arch trajectory was similar to the high jump of the Jack the Ripper entity.
