Indiana Jones 4

Has anyone seen the new Indy?
Yes, it is wrapped in all kinds of hollywood cliches, but I did enjoy it.
The ending I liked and it was interesting how a certain topic was portrayed.
Don't want to give away too much and spoil it.

My impression of Indy 4 was that it was a good Indiana Jones movie, in that it had the action, plot, acting and comedy that I had come to enjoy in the series. The bad guys were a little 'lite' compared to previous baddies, I mean... Russians instead of Nazi's okay.... but they just didn't seem bad enough. I guess I've come to expect more from the big bads given the setting on the World's Stage.

I did like the Ancient History aspect, the whole City of Gold thing was a recurrent theme in National Treasure as well. I also enjoyed the Scifi twist, especially given the whole reference to Aliens being transdimensional beings as opposed to actually 3D Aliens from a planet far away.

Hmm now that I think about National Treasure it does have a lot in common with Indiana Jones, as a series, the whole treasure-hunting aspect for one, the linking clues and archeology for another. Interesting that both movies focused on a city of gold as their 'treasure', I wonder who penned the idea first.

That's the part I enjoyed as well and thought it was quite surprising.

spoiler warning

I for one thought it was a fun watch, but a lot that was presented wasn't really believable(maybe thats true of the original three as well?), nuclear bomb blast, falling off three water falls and a cliff to boot... ok so it was "fun" but it didn't leave me with the best impression on the story. I especially thought the swinging from tree to tree like Tarzan with the kid and CG monkeys was pretty dumb, lol. I did catch the hyperdimensional alien beings idea as well, and it also made sense that the Russian hungry for power person was eaten up by the knowledge, she just couldn't handle it or her selfish greed was the end of her? I think I was just expecting more of another real indy movie like the previous three, and not some x-files like alien story to be presented so maybe thats why I was disappointed.

Well, that's Indy and hollywood for you. You can't expect anything else. I don't think any of the last three Indy films were any more believable.
All the issues you tackled I was thinking the same, but in the end I was just laughing about it. I see Indiana Jones more like a comic/cartoon story with some cool effects and interesting twists here and there. I would never expect that film to be "real" in any way. It's sci-fi/fantasy and anything goes. I had no expectations and therefore didn't get disappointed.

I saw it and thought it was hysterically funny. Then I came out thinking, "it wasn't supposed to be so hysterical, was it?". I mean, the first three films were far-fetched and cartoon-like, and also had moments which made you laugh despite the 'seriousness' of the situation. But Crystal Skull was SO far-fetched that I laughed more through that film than any film in recent memory. I can't help but feel that it's not just a huge gulf of time that separates this movie from Indy 3, but also a huge gulf in the style of the film.

Anyway, I did like some of the themes. The aliens from another dimension was especially interesting. I also liked the fact that the search for the "city of gold" was actually just a metaphor for the search for knowledge. Kind of like what the Holy Grail is a metaphor for.

I would watch it just because that gorgeous man with the scar on his chin is in it :D WHIP :P

One thing made me laugh: Grays overloaded the russian girl in the end with false knowledge and you saw what happened to her. Was it new age stuff they filled her with?

Yeah, the end was interesting like that. However, this is a major SPOILER, giving the end away. Maybe give a warning next time. Anyone who still wants to see this movie should avoid this thread.......too many give-aways....lol!

Indiana Jones came on TV the day before. And the first thing I thought about when I watched it, was the session Laura had with the Cassiopaeans about the group called Thor's Pantheum. I thought about this because of the aliens, and most specifically at the end of the movie. I found it really interesting, when the russian girl was bombarded with knowledge she was not ready for, which led to her distruction, and at the end when the man who went crazy because of the effect from crystal skull, said the real treasure was knowledge not physical treasure itself. I was also surprised when the aliens were referred to as hyperdimensional and not completely physical.

Q: (T) Is there any significance to the ID4 movie?
A: Sure.
Q: (L) What was the primary intention of the makers of this movie? The primary message that they attempted to convey?
A: Infuse thinking patterns with [planchette swirled a few times here] concept of aliens. Part of a larger project called "Project Awaken."
Q: (L) And who is behind, or in charge of, this project?
A: Thor's Pantheum. Subselect trainees for transfer of enlightenment frequency graduation.
Q: (L) Well, is this group STS or STO?
A: Both.
Q: (T) They're working together? Bipartisan?
A: No.
Q: (J) Are they aware of each other? Working on this?
A: Yes. There is more to all of this than you could dream. An army of Aryan psychic projectors.
Q: (L) And what do they project?
A: Themselves... Right in to one's head.
Q: (L) And, when they project themselves right into someone's head, what does that someone perceive?
A: Inspiration.
Q: (L) Inspiration to do something?
A: And...
Q: (L) To do something, and to understand or perceive something?
A: Yes.
Q: So, how many are in this army?
A: 1.6 million.
Q: (L) When they're doing this projecting into someone's head, where are they projecting from?
A: Mostly subterranean.
Q: (L) Are they 3rd or 4th density beings?
A: Both.
Q: (T) Let me back up to a question here. If they can do all this projecting on their own, what was the point of the movie?
A: No, you misunderstand... This is an intense activity, directed towards influencing the high level creative forces.
Q: (L) Was there something subliminal in the movie? That opened something?
A: Sure. Not for you, but for others.
Q: (L) What made us immune?
A: You already have the knowledge.
Q: (L) What are these high level creative forces that are needing to be influenced, or desirable of being influenced?
A: Those in the creative arts.
Q: (L) So in other words this group is using their projecting ability to influence those in the creative arts to produce things that will therefore influence the people on the planet. Is that it?
A: Yes.
Q: ( L) Can we say that they are stimulating people in a positive way?
A: Maybe.
Q: (J) Can we say that they are stimulating people in a negative way?
A: Maybe.
Q: (L) So, there's probably a little of both. And you say that we are immune to it because we already have knowledge. Now, when you say we have knowledge, do you mean just knowledge in particular about aliens and alien realities and alien potentials and so forth?
A: Yes.

Although it's allready "old" movie, I think all of you made quite nice suggestions. I found IJ4 supprising in same elements you noticed. Last but not the least, did you notice SF has booming Renaissance in last couple of years, I wonder if there are some additional agendas (beside the one from already mentioned session) in so many movies with "aliens" thematic?

I recorded IJ4 the other night,
and im looking forward to watching it even more after reading this.

One question - The C's transcript there - was it really done in 96? 10 years before they started making IJ4?
Id4 = Indiana jones and crystal skull?

Transcript really done in 09-21-96?

Hi melatonin,

Just to clear up the confusion, ID4 = Independence Day (also known by its promotional abbreviation ID4). My understanding is that the 09-21-96 transcript is referring to the Independence Day movie and not the Indiana Jones 4 (IJ4) movie. :)

Thanks for clearing that up Vulcan. The C's quote was still intresting, i just got confused with the date and what they were referring too.
